It gives someone power greater than any kage in general, not only just enough to beat them.
Counter example: Hashirama
So we cannot use that hype in any valid measure. At what point does it become invalid?

How do you even know if its not stronger than Hashirama? I mean its a kinjutsu that kills you after using it, which only lasts for a short time.

Hashirama and Madara may be considered to e the strongest, but why is it that whenever someone mentions something that could possibly surpass them, its immediately shot down as impossible?

You're using the no limits fallacy. Just because its said to give you power stronger than a kage it doesn't mean kages in the future/past can't surpass it. Kage is a title that isn't an accurate measure of strength, Gai's technique however is limited to the mechanics of the technique( which we know nothing about) and abilities of Gai.

Kakashi RAPES tsunade with kamui, really she stands no chance

Gai beats Mei

But it doesn't matter anyways, since it's not 1v1 , kages win

Its not a no limits fallacy. He would become physically stronger and faster than any kage because that is the power that the gates grant.

Yes it is because kage is only a title. Those that gain the title "kage" have different levels of strength. Kage only means that you're the strongest in the village at that time.
YOU'RE saying that no matter what he will be stronger than those that have gained that title which is impossible since the requirements to be kage change based on village and time period. Perfect example is the difference in strength between Hashirama and Tsunade. When naruto becomes hokage he will be the strongest at that time. Those that came before or those that will come after might be stronger or weaker depending on the skill of that generation.
