I don't understand why everyone believe it is a fact that Jougan is Boruto's dojutsu. I guess people are gonna use the "animator's blog" for proof of what the author is doing. It doesn't work like that, though. So, at the moment, we don't know a lot of shit about Jougan, whether it is a person or a dojutsu.

Jou means pure; gan means eye. PURE. EYE. JOUGAN.

The animator confirms the name, but states that the author is still ironing out the abilities. Jougan literally means Pure Eye. Toneri talks about the Jougan in relation to the Nue, which was what stimulated Boruto's eye in the first place. What more do you need?

Where did Jougan come from? The mother or father's side or the two together?

Depends on how Toneri knows about it. If it was something historically awakened by Hamura or one of his descendants, and thus information on its role/abilities are available, then most likely it's from Hinata. If Toneri knows about it via some prophecy passed down over the generations, then it's more likely a combination of the two.

I mean, it'd be fine if it was a dojutsu. But would it make a lot of sense Toneri said, "Sharingan's turn won't be coming for some time," or "Rinnegan's turn won't be coming for some time." If you know a lot about English, "the" is usually put before an object, which is done when someone refers to "the Byakugan, the Sharingan, and the Rinnegan." You've never heard Neji say, "Byakugan has no blind spots," he says, "The Byakugan has no blind spots."--or something of that variation. And the same goes with every other character who says the name of a dojutsu.

However, the name of people is never preceded with the words "the or a" or possessive pronouns, such as "his, my, their, hers, your."

Imagine being as dense as these guys.

I see your side of the view point and I respect it. In my honest opinion, I wouldn't say it's not a doujutsu. I would say I don't know.

You're right. And I clarified my point by saying "we don't know a lot of shit about Jougan, whether it is a person or a dojutsu."

Rasengan. I've attempted a few times to find the meaning of Jougan and I haven't found its meaning to be pure eye."Jougan's turn won't be for a while." Does that really sound like a dojutsu? Boruto's dojutsu is the rasennigan end of discussion.

it is going to be weird if a person is called "Pure eye"

And I get that. But it's not as weird as someone being called scarecrow, a flowering cherry tree, a screw, weasel. Maybe the name is a play on the person's eyes if it is a person.
