Alright then, I want you to answer the following things in your own words, try to state everything you know about what I will write underneath.

1. What is Earth?
2. What are its weaknesess/Strengths
3. Known users that specialize in Earth from the anime/manga.
4. What Element do you get if you combine it with one of the Five basic elements?

In the best way I can explain it, earth refers to the ground and any figment of extention such as dirt, gravel, stones and bolders, mountains, mud etc...Earth is a hard solid eintity, strong and firm and when manipulated with chakra it's probably the most dense of the natural elements. It's very stirdy and powerful, usually straight forward in it's attacks, meant to overwhelm your opponent and also provides great powerful defense.

As far as weakness goes, Lightning would count as the primary weakness to eath based ninjutsu. The natural minirals in the earth and the fact that lightning likes to be gounded (in terms of physics) and the surge of high energy from the lightning would be enough to cause fractures in the earth. As seen with Deidara's jutsu being derived from earth in a way, lightning chakra can neutralize earth chakra. As far as strengths go, Earth is strong against water. Narutally earth is denser then water, it could be soaked up into the earth or if head to head, if the mass of earth>then the mass of water, it constitutes and overshadowing I suppose.

Hiruzen Sarutobi (one of the two primary elements he's been seen to use)
Kakashi Hatake (well versed in four out of the five elements)
Oonoki (Earth makes up part of the Dust releaes he uses and his earth techniques alone are extremely powerful and well developed)

You can get Lava by combining earth and fire. The two natures in conjunction with each other, make up the kekkei genkai used by some shinobi seen in the series who can actually used the lava element by combining both their Katon and Doton chakra. However, those without kekkei genkai are able to use such techniques (lava) as well. Hiruzen used a collaboration of earth and fire to create to lava balls to launch at his opponent. In the jutsu list on the base, there's an A-ranked technique which allows you to create an eruption of lava by sending flames through a tunnle, combining it with the earth to constitute lava.

Now I will give you some information about the earth element which is extremely handy during battles, at least remember or save this in a document and use it during battles.

• A rank lightning vs A rank earth: Lightning destroys earth and keeps moving. [C-Rank]
• S rank lightning vs A rank earth: Same as above. [B-Rank]
• A rank lightning vs S rank earth: Lightning will destroy the earth but as a result it will use of all of its power and cancel out.

Now earth is the unique element. It is strong against water but water doesn't necessarily destroy. This means that blocking water jutsu with earth jutsu is more about the right description and effects of the jutsu instead of shearly looking at the rank and picking one from that rank. Anyway, the stuff that I will write underneath is also helpful for you to know what you do during a battle when you use the Earth element.

• Fire + Earth = The fire heats the earth up, thereby causing it to melt, and turn into the substance known as Magma/Lava.
  
• Wind + Earth = Weird combo, if you throw rock at your opponent the wind can be used to speed it up, but apart from that, these two elements aren't really fuseable.
  
• Lightning + Earth = I guess you could in some way electricute the earth to increase it's lethality, but you'd loose your lightning jutsu in the process. [Only when using a lightning ranked technique which is two ranks lower then the earth]
  
• Earth + Water = Mud, good at immobilizing your opponent, and even blinding your opponent, but unless you harden it with fire, it isn't exactly lethal or anything. [Only if you use example; S-Ranked technique against a B-Ranked earth technique]

None so far, I was going to ask about the situation wit lightning+earth seeing as the earth could be used to have the lightning travel along the earth as a conductor, however I see the combination would only serve to weaken the lightning attack overall. I have no questions we can proceed ^^

*I sit down on the ground, legs crossed and I close my eyes and begin to focus on my chakra. I feel my natural flow of chakra, coursing through my body and I begin to speed it up, having it flow faster and stronger throughout my body in a practically violent way. As my chakra flow increases I begin to harmonize my thought process, contemplating both; my chakra flow and the earth beneath me. The earth's surfaces is hard, rocky and dense. It reminds me of power, emense power and stability. From a chemical point of view, the molicules that make up the earth are tightly packed together, as is the deffinition of a solid. However I feel the connection, how everything in the ground and the earth are interconnected, the ground, mountains, the trees. I associate the thought with my chakra, unconsciouly mixing my thoughts into my flow of chakra.

My chakra is packed close together, in a powerful and interconnected matter. As I sit still, I feel as if I'm becoming stone; solid, powerful, stirdy, and my chakra feels powerful and dense.*

*I first begin by getting in tune with my doton chakra and circulating it through my body, getting a feel for the earth beneath my feet acustoming my body to that feel of the cold, strong earth, which makes my chakra even stronger. I have my chakra flow circulate througout my entire body. Looking at your clone, I sink myself to the bottom of ground, submerging myself beneath the earth, focusing on my doton chakra all throughout my body, aclimating it around me to the earth over top of me and I focus on the location of your clone, as well as my flow of chakra, and I travel fast through the earth and as I come just underneath your clone, I launch my hand up through the earth, grabbing and pulling down on the clone's legs and rising up myself as I drag the clone beneath the earth. As I stand in front of the clone, I see nothing but his head poping out of the ground, the rest of his body from the neck down trapped beneath the earth*

Now take this small chunk -Throws you a chunk- and try to send your chakra trough it and turn it into the shape of a staff, you can use it as a melee weapon or throw it with pinpoint accuracy at my clone, now try it on my clone and stay focused, now you have controlled your earth chakra and mastered it fully, hence being able to turn the earth thingy in a staff at a rapid speed.

*I begin by first moulding my doton chakra into the earth, invisioning the simplistic shape of a staff in my mind. As I flow my chakra from my body into the peice of earth the chunk of earth begins smoothening out, and extending to a long narrow form with my shape manipulation. Continuing my focus on the shape of the staff, the roughed out chunk of earth becomes a long staff. I focus my chakra into the end of the staff, sharpening it and creating a sharpened tip at the end of it. Looking at your clone, I quickly aim and follow through with my arm, launching the staff, sharpened end front, having it travel through the air fast and striking your clone stright through the heart*

*I first begin by channeling my doton chakra beneath me into the ground focusing on loosening the earth turning it into find sand. As I do this, I sink rappidly into the ground and as I simultaniously release my chakra above me to the place I was just in, hardening the sand returning it to it's orrigional state as I sink. I then focus my chakra in the direction I wish to go to, maintaining the focus and giving me room to breath. As I sense the location of your clone above the surface I make my way to him underground without any sign of me coming his way and I advance a rapid pace. As I confirm his position I rise up beneath the clone, placing an explosive tag on his leg. I leap backwards as I come completely onto the surface and as I shoot backwards I activate the tag, sending your clone to oblivion as he explodes.*

I want you to remember that this is a very handy technique to use, but remember to use it on people you think you can use it on because while you are underground and the enemy you fight against uses swamp of the underworld then you'll be dead because you won't have the time to react, same goes with the lightning technique when the user stomps both his hands on the ground and send's lightning running trough the ground, so watch out about what you do.

Send your chakra trough the ground and stay focused on what you do, then in the end try to let earth spikes erupt from underneath my clone, manipulate the earth into a spike that will protrude from the ground to skew my clone, the rock pillars are even able to pass trough obstacles to reach your opponent, but before doing this I want you to focus on your chakra and breath in and out.

I take a deep breath as I focus my chakra and as I image the the picture of the jutsu in my head I have my chakra focused and I have the earth pillars shoot up, their tips pointed and sharp and my chakra is reinforced inside the earth that I rise, which makes them hard enough to penatrate through other objects if need be, strengthening their power. The Spikes of earth shoot up and impale your clone from several different angles, eventually dispersing it*

That's what I always do, when a technique comes towards you, use it as a tactic by screaming letting your opponent think your slowly dying by screaming and mute your voice while hiding underground, and because of the noise of the technique and smoke and rubble your opponents create, you would meanwhile appear behind him.
