Who do you think would have win if Jiraya was at the place of Naruto? That means with full knowledge about Pain.

pein did say Jiraiya could have beaten him if he knew their secret. However, I cant really imagine Jiraiya beating all the paths, despite having the prior knowledge. The only way Jiraiya can win is by using sm to locate Nagato, and then use summons to somehow stall the paths. Then infiltrate nagato's hideout and face real Nagato and somehow beat him cause hes weakened/ or use talk no jutsu on him like Naruto did.
