Oonoki is skilled, but he relies too much on his dust/fly and weight stuff in my opinion, where as Jiraiya can summon giant toads, food cart destroyer, Fire/Earth release, swamp, rasengan, hair jutsu, transparent escape, and so many other jutsu and he can reverse summon himself and an opponent into his barrier.....

His Sage Mode is epic and in that mode he is almost unbeatable in my eyes.... and he can turn an opponent into a toad with the touch of his hand....

Oonoki flies above and destroys Jiraiya with a huge jinton jutsu...IMO Jiraiya needs time to enter SM.

Jinton has a weakness, a small prep time before he can blast, Jiraiya can use fire techs which don't require seals for him, collaboration fire with Bunta which would be nearly impossible to evade since it has a wide radius to prevent Onoki from prepping the Dust Release and also, according to the Databook, toads have a lot of sound genjutsu, Jiraiya can create an opening to kill Onoki with this. As for Onoki's techs...Jiraiya can rip Rock Golem to pieces with Wild Lion's Mane or use Swamp of the Underworld to sink it, can create shadow clones to counter Rock Clones, prevent Onoki from making him light by attacking him with fire, oil or hair.

This. Jiraiya and Onoki are 2 very versatile characters in their own right, Jiraiya's very versatile though, even more so and is pretty decent for beating Onoki here. Jiraiya wins, but I'd pay to see that shit. Would be a good fight.

This looks like a good plan, but you're forgetting he can fly lol. I see this fight going either way, but onoki has the edge because of flight.
