[Discussion] Jiraya in pain arc?

Now I know that it doesn't make any sense but they really look a lot alike. In this video at 0:19 other than Jiraya who else can it be? I mean he doesn't have one of his hands exactly like he lost one in his battle against Pain and he's stabbed in the same way, plus the increadibly long hair.Can somebody remind me who is that guy at that moment please?

I don't know how to explain it, but yeah its Jiraiya, and Jiraiya is definitely at the bottom of the ocean. What that shows is Naruto sensing the destruction Pain caused. It is more symbolic rather than informative.

What I meant is that here we see those who were killed by Pain's invasion and that's why it didn't make any sense to see Jiraya since he wasn't killed here and he's at the depths of the ocean, something which doesn't coincide with what we see see in this scene.

No you're the dumbass here. Think before you answer. Ofc Kakashi was dead here but as all the other people apart from Jiraya, were all killed in Pain's invasion and therefore it is only natural to show them. However, Jiraya was killed some time ago in a complete different place and he was lost in the depths of the ocean but here we see him as if he's not in the ocean but somewhere in Konoha. Your statement about kakashi is not important because Kakashi simply died as everyone else by Pain's attack. What was stange however was how we saw Jiraya as well plus the fact that he seemed to lie down on solid ground which contradicts his death in the ocean.

When Naruto stabbed himself, either remnants of Jiraiya's chakra or his blood still remained on that blade, and one of these two things have a sort of memory which Naruto can see whilst in Sage Mode.

It's not weird to me. After Jiraiya's death Pain attacked Konoha and Jiraiya was the first Pain's victim before the assault, so it's logical to me to show him as well. It doesn't matter where he died, he was fighting for his village, peace and for Naruto as well as the whole village! I hope you understood me.
He was lying on a solid ground before Asura path completely blew him. And then he died.
