Even though Jiraiya going against pain with no Intel was an epic fight yet suicidal.

I believe he was handicapped during that fight. Based on his abilities

There was no Swamp of the underworld

No Crushing Toad Stomach in the hallways

You must be registered for see images

These two jutsu alone would have allowed him to contend or potentially beat the six paths considering..

1) Battleground advantage due to enclosed areas
2) Sage mode to increase his jutsu capability
3) Pain may not have known about these two jutsu

Im willing to believe Nagato would have been ATLEAST pushed to despra CT

And pain's handicap was no shrina tensei, chibaku tensei, and ningendo which would've ended things a lot sooner.

You can't possibly believe that Jiraiya had the greater disadvantage when Pain wasn't even using more than half of his paths for most of the battle, and the paths he did use were some of the weakest ones.

Or nagato could of used all 6 paths off the bat and killed him when he got there, either or

Naruto had intel, several restarts through prep time, fought a weakened Pain and still lost in SM.

Jiraiya is nothing to Pain.

They got to progress the story somehow. Making Naruto beat pain is what they want

Jiraiya held his own against 2 Paths while in Sage Mode. One the 3rd entered the fray he lost his arm and when the other 3 showed up, he died. Jiraiya' Sage Mode<Naruto's and Naruto, for all tense and purposes was captured by Pain.

Intel or no, those 2 Jutsu or no, Jiraiyah would have died regardless. Especially if all 6 paths or even deva path were there at the start
