Well, a Yomi Numa through the ground after summoning something to keep Itachi occupied seems like it might work. Itachi isn't as mobile as Jiraiya, who can sink through any floor, wall, ceiling or other surface in an instant. And he can sink Itachi through said surface as well, as a trapping maneuver.

Sharingan can forsee this, remember? Itachi has way better chances to take down Jiraiya and his summon with Amaterasu, than Jiraiya to take down Itachi.

What manga pages "state" that Itachi>SM Naruto? I know there aren't any and you're a massive Itachi fan but if I'm correct Itachi ain't the one who kicked all 6 paths to next week effortlessly by blitzing them all and fodderizing them with 1 hit each.

This is one of those fights that can go either way. Whatever knowledge Jiraiya/Itachi have on the other, as well as the starting distance will doubtlessly play a role in who wins. As well as if Jiraiya starts in Sage Mode or not.

It depends on what you mean by equal. It seems as if Prime Orochimaru is the strongest Sannin, followed by Jiriaya and then Tsunade. They're close to eachother's levels but one will always triumph over the other.

Actually, I think they're supposed to be like rock paper scissors. Tsunade > Orochimaru > Jiraiya > Tsunade. Just like their respective summons.

Whether this is how it works out in reality is a different question.

Hey, if it's an effective tactic against Pein, I figure it works against the Weasel. Amaterasu can be sensed, if not by Jiraiya then one of the Shoulder Toads, and Itachi has to close his eye, bleed a little, and open it before casting. Yomi Numa seems faster.

Remember how Zetsu figured Naruto was stronger than Sasuke after they beat their respective Akatsuki?

No, she is not stronger than Jiraiya, but she is stronger than Orochimaru.

Orochimaru defeated Jiraiya, when he wanted to "save" him.
Tsunade defeated Orochimaru.
And Jiraiya sayed that he is going to kill Tsunade if she betrayes the Village.
