Do you guys think there still is a chance for Jiraiya ti get revived? I know Kabuto said Jiraiyas body was deep in the ocean, but I'm sure Orochimaru got some of Jiraiyas dna! He would get beat by Naruto easily but thats not why i want him revived ;o I want him to see just how much Naruto has grown and i also want him to see the allied shinobi forces xD his dream was peace after all so i think seeing the allied shinobi force would be some progress for his dream xD

Last time. . DON'T DO IT! Jiraiya being revived would end the emotional factor that one of the best, if not the best Arc had. Pein's Invasion. Several scenes, including the last one with Tsunade and Jiraiya, Tsunade informing Naruto, etc would be meaningless if Jiraiya got to come back and say "HAI!"

His death was one of the saddest, most epic ones. Itachi had a great death till his revival. While I initially liked the idea of Itachi coming back, what he did was annoying and I realized that his last "GoodBye" to Sasuke... Sorta pointless in hindsight, from a viewers perspective.

Again, if Kishi wants to do something with Jiraiya. . Jiraiya Gaiden. Start from some point after they became a team and go on till the Kyuubi Attack. It literally is the best option to keep Naruto alive, if he wants to that is.

i think kishi dont want jiraya to be revived cause he already taught naruto anything he knew and he passes his legacy to him there no reason to revive him ... notice that in the movie ROAD TO NINJA he chose not to revive him either

I think it would detract a bit too much from his death.

I mean... it could be done - and could be done relatively well... but it would be reviving jiraiya for the sake of reviving jiraiya.

I'm actually kind of disappointed that the Kage were revived. It seems to cheapen the plot when death becomes little to no consequence (DBZ, anyone?).

I disagree with the kages part xD Dan said only Hashirama could defeat Madara, we know neárly nothing of Tobirama & Hiruzens real strength and naruto has never met his old man before (only when he fought pain)

.................................. Itachi being revived was pointless like how he played a HUGE role in changing Sasuke's mind about destroying konoha and how he saved the allied shinobi forces (not to mention all the nations and everyone in naruto) from the edo tenseis.

No, what was pointless was the whole emotional death he had, his lasting will, and all that. Edo Itachi ruined that, it was no longer sad and was more of meh in that part of the story.

And as ya' decided to bring up Edo Tensei. . Exactly what Edo Tensei did he stop when he defeated Kabuto? They were either all sealed up, Madara, or were weaker end Edo's that were being dealt with. Such as Chiyo without puppets and Kimimaro.

He sealed Nagato up. And Madara escaped the Edo Tensei's binds as the jutsu began to cancel.

He influenced Sasuke, that's right. But don't forget that Sasuke said he hated Konoha even more after that. He would still be soul searching in the cave if Suigetsu and Juugo didn't come through the roof.

And it was only after Hashirama shared his life with him, his goal, his ninja way did Sasuke think to preserve Itachi's home.

Those are somewhat interesting edos - but at the same time, I find them relatively 'cheap.'

You have characters like Mito - or any random Uzumaki from Uzushiogakure proper - who would have made very interesting edos. What better than a clan with techniques that were both legendary and almost completely unknown amongst those alive to be in the Alliance?

There are ways to tell a story and to fill in the history about legendary characters without evoking their character, directly.

Of course, I believe Edo Tensei has been made far too cheap. Unlimited chakra? Nearly perfect control over someone regardless of their knowledge and abilities? There are numerous ways to use Edo Tensei more tactically in a plot that would make using it on Kage and other high level ninja quite risky and quite a feat. There were other ways to give the Akatsuki an "army" than a bunch of Zetsu fodder and bringing back history's legends by the dozen. It's still not exactly clear where the "80,000" Ninja came from. Theoretically, the Leaf provided over 16,000 of those - and we saw the class sizes they had. The math doesn't add up.

Kishi could have written a plot with a fraction of the forces using strategic maneuvering of smaller details (rather than classic 'armies') and kept the 'ninja feel' to it all. This would allow techniques like Edo Tensei to be limited while still being exceptionally potent and useful (but with flaws that could be exploited in a few different ways). And it would mean that you could build more depth to the universe (and even some of the historic characters) by portraying them indirectly as opposed to directly.

But I'm kind of rambling and talking in circles.

The point is that Edo Tensei is just a cheap move to begin with. Revive history's gods and give them unlimited chakra. There's no reason to ever avoid using edo tensei on the most powerful people you can find.

I mean... what's this battle going to turn into? Hashirama with unlimited chakra versus Madara with unlimited chakra with Minato, Sarutobi, and Tobirama running as support with a Juubi complicating the mix. Oh, and none of them can really be destroyed (spare for, theoretically, the Juubi).

It's going to boil down to shooting a Kamehameha wave at each other for five chapters before it ends with a Father-Son Rasengan.

In the mean time - what the hell are characters like Tenten supposed to do?

Sure - Naruto and the Kage are supposed to be these powerhouse characters... but things have gotten so far out of hand that the only people who can do anything are the Mary Sues of the plot.

It's like different versions of Majin Buu fighting each other.
