Naruto didn't kick anybody's ass. First off, Naruto had full knowledge in that scenario (given what Jiraiya and Kakashi gathered from fighting Pain). Second of all, Deva Path was restricted so Naruto had the luxury of fighting the support paths while Pain's main offensive Path (Deva) stood there unable to do much. Third of all, once Deva Path got his powers back, he hammered Naruto even in tailed form and would have probably succeeded creating a larger Chibaku Tensei had he not spent tons of chakra fighting the village and nuking it.

That "wooden shield(which it hasn't even been stated to be wooden)" took on a full force attack from Animal Path's bird summon and didn't even crack in the slightest bit, fell to the concrete floor from a high distance and still didn't crack. It has the feats to hold up against an explosion of c2's size. Maybe I'm remembering wrong, but didn't Sasuke in CS2 tank one of the c2 explosions? Might be remembering incorrectly on that though.

That's what I thought. Bunta can move quickly enough to get out of the range of the gas cloud before it reaches him. If the fight reaches that point, Jiraiya would have entered SM, and it's arguable his speed in SM could outrun the "gas cloud" once they notice through either animals around them or possibly one of Jiraiya's summons getting caught in it. Reverse summoning also being an avoidance option.

It's also important to note the only reason Deidara was able to pull that technique off was because Sasuke thought he was dead and had already deactivated CS2/stopped his assault.

As i said it takes time for the genjutsu to activate AFTER the song is played, as pain was able to travel a far distance and fight jiraiya for a time before they were caught, flames are not making the bombs explode mid-air :| They don't explode upon contact, Fuuton is a linear attack it's easily avoided in the air although again you still have yet to say how he enters SM ... Toad oil bullet is not going that high ..
