This thread is a hypothetical battle thread.

What if Jiraiya had never returned Naruto to Konoha in the beginning of Part 1?

They instead continued to travel around and were eventually confronted by different Pairs of Akatsuki. They are encountered by the pairs as the appeared in the manga, in other words...

Deidara would appear first, followed closely by Sasori.

A while later Hidan and Kakuzu would appear after Naruto and Jiraiya had just finished Fuuton: Rasengan training.

Itachi would be fought shortly after that.

Then Pain and Konan once Naruto had attained Sage Mode. This is the last fight.

Would Jiriaya be able to protect Naruto, or would Akatsuki capture him?

Location: Where the Akatsuki members were encountered first in the manga.

plot no jutsu dumbass, pain made naruto loose controle thus becoming the full 9 tails until minato came, jiraya was clearly no match against 5 pains

Considering Naruto had all info on Pain's abilities, had all Chief Toads and Pain knew nothing of his abilities, I can safely say Naruto was lucky as f*** even beating him once.

Jiraiya wouldn't be much help either as he only took down one Pain..

You cant compare that to this, in that situation Naruto had TWO back up SM clones, he was done the moment he ran out and Deva attacked him, Pain also doesn't have Deva restricted as he doesn't have to blow up a villiage in this situation, Jiraiya is alive too meaning NO intel

considering that jiraiya figured their abilities out in one fight i think him and naruto in sage mode can pull it off by dividing them up with a few problems here and there ofcourse

Can they really defeat Sasori and Deidara though? I mean I know Jiraiya is strong but I really don't see it if both criminals are going all out.

I was pondering over the Hidan/Kakazu one for a while and working out how the hell they could beat Hidan but yeah, Jiraiya can use sound genjutsu, transform into a toad or trap him inside a giant toad house. They can do that one the easiest.

Pain is tricky. I'm guessing in this hypothetical matchup Naruto doesn't have intel and it takes them half the fight to work out that the bodies are connected. By this time, it's probably too late. It was only due to a bunch of circumstances that Naruto won the first time and we all know how Jiraiya ends up when he doesn't know the Pain secret. Also small factor, Naruto doesn't start off as passionately as he did last time. He has nothing to avenge and no Hinata/dead sensei means no 9 tails trigger.

When Pain kills Jiraiya Naruto goes full 9 tails and obliterates Pain.

If Hinata, some random whom Naruto never really cared about made him go 6 tails, Jiraiya dying right in front of him will make him insane.

I still don't believe Naruto survives Sasori and Deidara, he's not high enough level. And Jiraiya needs him to defeat the other enemies.

i dont think anyone here read the OP. This is basically jiraiya vs the akatsuki

according to what you said, jiraiya gets killed by sasori immediately. jiraiya has no skills in curing poison.

also deidara can use c0. dont even get me started on hidan and the others. dude even zetsu could kill jiraiya.
