This is simply a bad match up for itachi. Sorry bro, I know it hurts but you gotta accept it. I had to accept the fact that because of Amateratsu flame control, the raikage would never beat sasuke. Just accept it son.

OP: We do have a problem. Jiraiya never mastered SM so it´s all likewise. itachi acknowledged J, J knew it´d be a draw. A man that can take on 3 paths without knowing them first hand is Madara class kind of fighter, just like Itachi.
