-He has the best wide range genjitsu in the manga, perfect for the battlefield
-He has numbers on his side, with all the toads gathered
-He is the only one except Naruto that has Sage mode
-No one on the current battlefield knows all of Jiraiya's jutsu (big advantage)
-He is the smartest Ninja on the battlefield (now that Itachi is dead)
-He is one of the most experienced Ninja on the battlefield (remember he traveled around the world for 30 years)



I think even Madara would be nervous seeing this sage face
