Ikr if Kishi kept the other Sannin alive why didn't he do Jiraiya?

I think Kishi set up Jiraiya's death for Naruto to endure a lost godfather and start his training for SM to beat Pain who was also Jiraiya's pupil. Honestly if you think about it even Naruto knew that this was Tsunade's responsibility as 5th Hokage for sending Jiraiya to Amegakure by himself and it was her fault for his death smh.

The moves and speed showed to equal Pains(more or less), enough to bail.
The summons weren't preventing them from leaving because they weren't trying to.

I think you're forgetting this is a series about ninja. He went against the strongest character ( at that time) with very little knowledge. If he didn't fight or left the fight halfway he never would've learned the secrets of pein that helped naruto defeat him.

He could have lived yes, but he had to die for the plot to advance. Jiraiya was the closest thing to a father Naruto had. His death was essential for Naruto's growth. Also, if Jiraiya lived then Naruto would fight Pain in Konoha alongside Jiraiya. Pain would get rekt, neg-diff.
