This will be my verdict on EZQ's and Dr Proof's debate.
Mist:
Dr Proof:
Proof gives two counters to Zabuza's mist. In the first one Jirobo goes underground to hide. Proof further explains, that Jirobo can use jutsu from underground, just like Tobi. A decent strategy.
In the second strategy Jirobo lifts a massive rock to conceal the river and disperse the mist. However, his strength analysis of Jirobo is flawed, since Choji being mountain sized in no way means, that he is anywhere as nearly as heavy as a mountain. Going into V2 also fastly eats up chakra, meaning, that Jirobo would likely exhaust himself after lifting and throwing the rock. Failed strategy.
EZQ:
EZQ suggests, that Zabuza will make clones to confuse Jirobo, but Proof shows that Jirobo will notice how more chakras have appeared, so if he sensed the original chakra source, he should be able to track the real Zabuza. EZQ also explains that Zabuza will hear Jirobo going underground, which i agree with. Overall a so - so strategy. Might work, but its hihgly doubtful.
The second counter is for Zabuza to go above water, but Proof shows, that Hiding like a Mole helps one track movement even in the air. Plausible argument, but still nothing concrete.
EZQ also states, that Zabuza can hear Jirobo underground, but the doctor prooves this invalid, since Zabuza couldn't hear the dogs traveling underground. However, he does proove, that Zabuza can see in the mist. (Which Proof didn't get a chance to counter)
EZQ agrees with Jirobo's strength. Huge mistake. EZQ states that it will take a lot of time for Jirobo to lift the rock, when he did that instantly before, and Zabuza trying to blitz Jirobo will only make him more vulnerable. Instead you should have tried to prove, that Zabuza can dodge the rock, or push it with Suiton.
Tactic 2:
Dr Proof:
In this tactic Jirobo uses doton to attack Zabuza from underground. Since Zabuza can't hear attack from underground, he will be caught off guard. Great tactic.
EZQ:
EZQ's counter is that Jirobo's control over the earth is limited, though i don't see how this matters, when Jirobo wouldn't need massive Doton, if his attacks would catch Zabuza off guard anyways. The clone strategy could work, but Zabuza will still not find Jirobo, and this is all assuming that Jirobo looses track of the real Zabuza.
Tactic 3:
Dr Proof:
A similar tactic to the second one, but this time Jirobo uses earth prison. Since the jutsu is used from underground, Zabuza won't be able to anticipate it, and get caught. Another great tactic.
EZQ:
EZQ agrees, that Zabuza can't escape the prison, and uses clones as a counter again. I agree, that clone feints can work, but this is only assuming, that Jirobo catches a clone.
Style:
Proof seperated his post into different parts, even in his counter. He also always had a recap at the end, to make things easier to understand, and always kept his posts short. His scan links directed me to the site allowing me to look at the previous and next scans, so that i can understand his point better. A single scan doesn't always explain everything. EZQ had points, that were not really needed. For example, Sound Four having difficulties with two jounin holds no weight in this battle.
However, the arguments are the most important in a debate and...
Dr Proof still won.
EZQ oftenly misunderstanded Proof's points, and most of his points were doubtful. Dr Proof also had some bad/flawed arguments, but he also had many solid arguments, which weren't as nearly as questionable. Honestly i now think, that EZQ was at a disatvantage with Zabuza. I have completely forgotten, about Sound Four's strength.
This is an interesting thread with a lot of well constructed arguments, and it's definitely a subject I think about often. Obviously, the answer to this question is highly subjective, and I don't believe there is a single right answer. I like reading everyone's opinion on the matter, though, and I hope this discussion goes on.
