Jinbei Sarutobi. To make things more interesting, how would you feel about starting off slow and old-school ? A good, classical magnificent close combat skirmish.

It was a long and boring day in the boundaries of Iwagakure. Despite the numerous missions going on and the various tasks being completed by the ninjas, the inhabitants of this great and legendary village weren't left behind; they worked the ground with great effort and passion, seeking to achieve great-quality merchandise to sell to the villagers, who would seldom decline the fantastic offers the farmers would implement.

Although it seemed to be a very active day, the same didn't apply to the high-ranked shinobi Jinbei. Being the second-in-chief, he was exempt from the dull, pitiful duties a regular ninja was forced to complete and thus he would spend most of his time doing activities of his liking, such as reading, meditating and lately, even teaching. However, the Iwarian's wild side wouldn't survive chastity for long. It was only a matter of time before he would do some reckless research or mishaps.

Having finished his usual house duties, he mounted his horse effortlessly. Her, a beautiful, white-skinned animal of the finest caliber, let smoke come out of her nostrils as he was climbed by her master. However, such a gracious animal had to possess a befitting name and with this thought in mind, Jinbei named her Sunfire. It was, doubtlessly, a most adequate name for this extraordinary being. The sun rays would reflect against her skin when she was galloping, and in addition to her fiery and uncontrollable hair, would give the appearance of a horse sent from heaven itself.

Jinbei's attire, which consisted of a flamboyant loose piece of cloth, was his preferred choice when taking a ride for it allowed him to connect with the animal and even nature itself. Regardless, being aware of the risks, he decided to be on the safe side, and took ahold of a medium-sized bow - a present from his student Mathias- and carefully placed it in his back. In spite of it being not his weapon of choice, he liked using it but he was never able to determine why.
On the right side of his hip a sharp-edged steel sword, with a crimson red hilt that vibrated every time Jinbei grabbed it could be found. He deposited two scrolls to his left side of his hip, which contained different weaponry along with other important things he may need under difficult circumstances. Finally, he inserted a can, full of exquisite arrows, to the animal's side and stripped it.

He tightened his grip on the horse's thongs and then, after a weak hit, the horse begun moving at an extremely high speed. Sunfire blasted through the stable's gates, her body moving fluidly with the cold, harsh winds that habituated the place. As the great shinobi disappeared in the distance, becoming but a dot in the horizon, a child inquired his mother about the tattoo on Jinbei's back. Her mother took a quick look, grinned and replied in a calm, sweet tone : "That's the Sarutobi clan mark". The boy smiled as he gazed up with admiration, his hunger for answers had been satiated.

With no definite mission, his only pursue were his whims. His journey was no more, for the only thing he was searching for was fun and some unexpected event to take place in the outskirts of one of the big villages of the ninja world. He settled for the spine, a gigantic, natural forest full of livid sentient beings. The current Tsuchikage, Toku, had completely forbidden the entrance to the forest in consideration for the villager's safety. The number of people who had dared venture into the deadly jungle was low and the number of people who had made it back alive was almost nonexistent. Nevertheless, Jinbei remained true to his exploring nature, and ignored every warning. After all, what was the worst thing that could happen ?....

I could hear the sounds of nature; chirping of birds, dripping water from the trees after a rainy night, damp breeze brushing the grassy field, wooden buckets being carried around by villager and the very joyful chit chatting of the children playing out side. It all seemed as a part of nature to me. These things contributed heavily to the art of the world’s beauty. But I was still not ready to start this new day. No matter how much I tried to forget my past it still burned in me. The agonizing pain making it hard for me to live every day and every moment of my life. I wanted to start a new life being part of this art. I wanted to love someone again but my heart was broken in so many pieces that I couldn’t put them together. “Will I be able to love someone again”, a question I asked myself every moment. I wanted to get out of this melancholy and the darkness that surrounded me. I wanted to search for light and brightness, and carve my name on it removing the terrifying memories of past.
It was late. The sun was up and shinning bright. It was now becoming uncomfortable to keep my eyes closed and seek for answers. The only thing that made me happy now was returning the favor of people who were with me. To serve Iwa with my life because it has given me a place to live, a place I could now call my home, a place to return and seek answers. I now lived to serve Iwa but my dark side still burned in me, torturing me every day and night. It was trying to be free again. The darkness was as such that someone has placed a mirror in front of me showing the reality to my eyes, which was impossible to believe. I am still the devil that this world feared of. I am still an Uchiha, the one who tamed darkness. And now it was returning back to me. “An Uchiha” I repeated…

I shook the thought out of my head and got up. A small room was so well lit by the sun that it almost made impossible for me to open my eyes. The whole place was a simple wooden structure with nothing but a bed in it and everything else scattered around. I walked couple of steps grabbing a long red leather cloak from the ground and wrapping it around my body. The cloak was very old but made with pure fine leather. It had a black belt just below the waist area, and a few pockets at the bottom. It was torn at many places by sword cuts revealing my pale skin, some parts showing scars but other looked smooth and shiny. Then I walked towards the door and when I was about to open it I heard a child asking about a mysterious man with such excitement and regard. Then I heard a female voice replying that child’s question, "That's the Sarutobi clan mark". When I heard it I was fell in a sudden shock, an unusual dilemma: It was as if my inside was shook by a very strong power. I had to choose between something, and I didn’t even know what my options were. Memories accompany these strange feeling and they flashed in my brains as I heard the footsteps of the horse fading. Darkness covered my eyes and I was blind for a moment; I saw everything again like it was happening in real. Then I remembered Konoha, a place that was once mine. When the thought of Konoha flipped in my mind, a sudden urge pleaded me to accept what I have been rejecting for such a long time, it showed me the power I used to love and the scent of blood that I missed. Before I could think anything else I was out of the door running before the horse with a sword in my left hand. Not just an ordinary sword, it was The Frozen Fang, a sword bestowed upon humans by the heavens themselves, and my chakra was channeling in the silver sword making its length even longer and a part of it touching the ground tearing it as I ran towards the sound of a magnificent horse. I didn’t care about the crowd that was starring me as I dashed by them. All I had in mind was the thirst for power and the scent of blood.

Jinbei gazed upwards, searching for any indications of a sudden weather change that might compromise his unusual adventure into the unknown. Many thoughts and memories solemnly flashed in his mind. He wondered how much time had passed since he had actually felt like this and came to the realization that it had been some time indeed.

Jinbei Sarutobi was no more than his alias, for his real name remained hidden to the townspeople to procure their safety and his. For them, people who only heard tales of the fantastic Iwarians but had never experienced their strength firsthand, relating this man to the old Iwagakure shinobi, said to be Toku's companion even prior to the ascension to Tsuchikage from the latter. The rumors about this man were numerous; he was an enthusiastic, cunning individual, who ( at times ) was reckless. He was one of Iwagakure's founding members and had worked under the command of mythical figures, such as Nero and even Bishamon himself. However, it seemed this man had a downfall. He was a highly lethargical individual, who had unworldly habits so gross, that would make even the strongest man feel ill. In fact, at one point the great Iwarian figure had been offered the spot as Tsuchikage, but he declined out of sheer fear of the paperwork. His activity slowly, but surely, was diminished, until he disappeared one chilly night...

That man was indeed Jinbei Sarutobi. He was better known as Jinbei, Jinbo or just Kiyoshi. Only a handful of people knew much about this man, mainly because he didn't trust many of the villagers. He always kept himself in the shadows, aiming to help the village without seeking to be recognized as a warrior. After all, he remained true to what the great Roku Kiyoshi had taught him. Jinbei's early years had been rough and were probably the cause to his madness. To be sent to war when he was only 6 years old had been a cold-hearted decision from the higher-ups.

Nevertheless, the now not-so-young male sought to leave all behind and start anew. He had never been power-hungry, so it was rather easy for him to begin a calm, lovely life in the outskirts of the country. It had been his desire ever since he came back from the bloody war.

All of a sudden, Jinbei snapped out of his thoughts and realized it was already dusk. Time flies when you are having fun, huh ?, he thought. He looked around, trying to determine his position but in every direction he looked, all he managed to gaze were strong, long and green trees. "This must be the so-called spine.." he muttered in a weak, yet grave voice. He leashed Sunfire's reins and instructed her to slow down. He was sensing a presence not so far behind them, who was following their every step. She obeyed and slowly came to a halt.

"Tsch..." he grunted in disdain " Okay, let's give our guest something he won't forget "

He detached the arrows from the horse and located them in his back whilst simultaneously gripping the bow, taking it out for a ride which hadn't happened in a long time. In a quick and illegible motion, he ordered Sunfire to hide behind some bushes and she should remain there until further notice. He rapidly deposited a letter with some inscription to it in the middle of a clearance and hide in one of the highest branches he could find, remaining out of sight from any traveler or animal. He snatched the bow from his back and deftly fit an arrow in the string. With his unaccustomed fingers, he pulled back the string and waited for the stalker to show up.

He was half-hoping it was an animal, for his hunger was growing deep within him. He hadn't eaten anything in almost an entire day and his stomach wasn't content with this. However, he wouldn't rush to attack, as it may be the only chance he will have.

If the human was being guided by his nose, then he would surely notice the powerful scent that emanated from Jinbei's scroll. He had impregnated his odor to it to lure the being into the clearance, where he would take it down with a well-placed arrow. He wasn't aiming to kill, but to incapacitate. He was become impatient, but he calmed himself by thinking what great meal he would enjoy once he was done. Time transpired and soon enough, some noises could be heard.

Wind was opposing my motion trying to make me loose my speed but the desire to beat it grew even more. I was now fighting the nature and the art that once I used to praise. It took all my will and energy to run as fast as I can to catch up with the horse. My heart was racing faster and faster as time passed. My steps splashed the water on the track from the rain last night, and my senses became sharp visualizing every single droplet that touched the air. The world around me was slowing down and I felt myself opening a whole new set of hurtful memories. A part of me wanted to stop and return to the people I served, but a more dominant part reminded me that it was all fake and this is my true desire; A lust for blood. It was as if someone has wrapped me in the cloak of darkness and has thrown me into the valleys where rivers of blood flow. Once again the devil inside me won and I was left helpless.
“What if he didn’t won? What if there is no such thing inside me? What if the real me is Devil itself and I have been denying the truth for so long?” So many questions still remained unanswered and untold. But now I was feeling the urge for power getting more and more intense. I was finally accepting the Darkness and feeling the power that I once owned. Now a greater force was controlling me and leading me to my desire.
I followed the U shaped footsteps till they led me to The Forbidden Forest entrance. I didn’t give it a second thought and with extreme force jumped onto the tree, disobeying the first law. This was nothing compared to the sins I have committed. “A law, huh!” All the love in me was fading and leaving my inside. It called me again and again but I turned my face away and ignored its plead, instead I cling to a stronger power: a power of hatred and revenge, a power I have been denying for centuries, it was time I claim my revenge.
I flew pass trees by trees towards a straight direction and then with a long jump I came back again on to the ground. Now walking slowly but with equal anger and desire. The grip on my sword became tighter and the chakra coming from it grew even longer. I was looking down on the straight track of the forest created by trees bowed down making a magnificent shadowed pathway, sun glimmering from the gaps between branches. It now got darker and darker as if I had traveled time. Clouds were covering the sky and within no time it started raining. Now the sky was crying too… It took me back in the days. A strange feeling reminded me that I was once again living the same life. And I didn’t want to return this time. I want to walk along with it and follow the path until death defeats me or I captivate it. Blood splattered in front of my eyes showing me the forgotten memories. Swords clashed in the rainy forest. I could hear the sound of metal so loud as if it was real. And then I saw myself standing in the middle of the battlefield, eyes blood red with visions like angel. I could clearly feel every mind and read every move of the weak ninjas. All of them were weak to me. I saw myself once again and it showed me a reflection of a devil. Dark fog surrounded my body illuminating the bright red color of my eyes. I then moved and with a single effortless strike slaughtered the whole clan. I then saw a small child; he was standing in a few feet distance holding a kunai in his shaking hands. I could read his mind but I knew it wasn’t weak; he looked me with those cold and sharp eyes and took possession of my strength. I knew he was not one of those who I just killed. He was different, very different.I could not gather enough strength to raise my sword on to him. I left him there and walked away, with a last look I turned around and saw a smile of victory on his face. It crushed me but I didn’t returned.
Raindrops fell on my face making me return into the present. No one shall know my identity, I promised and walked to confront my enemy. The desire was still strong as I raced towards the very center of the forest. I saw some tracks and a scroll in the middle of pathway. There was a very strange pungent smell coming from somewhere around. I walked towards the scroll slowly trying to be sharp around the surroundings. It was a red scroll with gold lining around it. I picked it up from the ground with my right hand still holding the sword on my left. And then I slowly opened it and it said: "If you're reading this, it's too late...Booyah!”
The next instant everything was quick and sudden. I released two wind hurricanes one pushed the scroll as far as for me and the other was aimed for the ground that lifted me up in the mid air and then I covered my eyes with the sword to defend against ashes. The blast blew my hairs back and with a thrust i was sent away. The flames were out of range and were not able to reach me. I then got my balance and dragged my feet on the ground making the dust rise until i stop moving backwards.
Note:
- I didn’t feel like adding justu because there is none for this one. Will be formal after this…
- And I have been revived again. So I m pretty old =DD

It was dark. Not only because the night was finally covering the sky, the first start already present in the limitless pitch black sky, but because some sort of apprehensive mist was also casted on the field. This is not a jutsu Jinbei analyzed but it does have a strange feeling to it. I don't like where this is going...

His maroon eyes pierced through the mist like a cat's in the obscure darkness, yet they retained his signature kindness and hospitality. As he was during his usual scout, his gaze suddenly rested in a small opening in between two big trees as if expecting to see a beast come out of it. He didn't even flinch, all emotion had been erased from his now cold, demanding sight calculated meticulously all movement in that zone. To him, it was all simple math; his sensing had picked up an unusual disturbance in the close proximity and his senses were seldom wrong. This, of course, wasn't going to be the exception.

A silhouette of what seemed to be an average man could be seen in the distance, his strong arms pushing aside all sort of bushes as his head jerked constantly, seeking something. Sarutobi found no village identification on the man and deducted he was no shinobi or he was in an infiltrating mission, in look for something. Quickly, he readied his bow and fitted an arrow. He also took out two arrows with explosive tags attached and stabbed them to the tree for a more rapid grab if needed.

The silhouette steadily advanced through the jungle, and what used to be just a shadow became an easily identifiable individual. By looking around, the man spotted the clear in the forest where the scroll had been placed and sped forward. He grabbed the scroll, but as he read, his eye opened in awe and surprise. Seconds before Jinbei could shot his arrow, a sudden burst of wind coming from his fist elevated him into the air, which forced him to reclaimer his bow and take aim again.

Without any signs of doubt, he let loose on the string and the arrow darted at supernatural speed, aimed at his shoulder. If it were to hit, the projectile would easily incapacitate the use of his whole arm, leading the fight to an end in case ninjutsu was required. He showed signs of being a ninja, but what does he want in here ? If he were from Iwa, he would be on duty. I'll knock him out and interrogate him.

His train of thought didn't prevent Jinbei from continuing his assault, though. Right after the first arrow was shot, the other two that had been prepared followed immediately thereafter. The new arrows were aimed at his torso and leg, so that if he were to try and escape with the same jutsu, the explosion would still deliver enough damage to slow him down enough to be captured.

"Checkmate" Jinbei muttered in a weak, vicious voice. In case of a response, he slipped another arrow out of the container and nocked it. He took aim, as his adrenaline lightened his eyes.

After the second wind blast I realize that I was completely possessed with my desire. It was now time to think everything through, and with my strategic capabilities it was all clear to me in a split second. “Facts: One I knew he was around me but unaware of my real identity, Two the text on the scroll states that he likes to play before the actual hunt, Three the blast was just a diversion to check my initial abilities and the actual attack lies somewhere around me, Four It will be long ranged, probably darts, arrows or senbons, through which he could attack on the desired location, trying to disarm my further actions, Fifth If he could go this far using a bomb to ambush an attack, he won’t hesitate to kill me.”

“A simple game of calculations, huh!” I smiled as I see an arrow coming towards me with majestic speed; it tore through the wind trying to reach my arm. My sword still held near my eyes (vision not blocked) I tilted the sword to an angle covering my left shoulder with wind chakra on extreme rage extending the sword capabilities beyond anyone’s reach. Time slowed down drastically making me witness every molecular action. The bomb exploded but the arrow already made it through the explosion. It came for me like a lion hunts its prey.

“I was the prey” the thought was uncomfortable but true. This was the second time I had a feeling like that. The first time was when I saw that kid in the war trying to oppose my existence, and now this new, unknown enemy who just awakened a devil. I was not afraid at all instead I was excited. It’s been a long time since I enjoyed my life or a battle this much, and I knew it was just getting started. “A prey” I thought again. “Lets show him that a devil can never be hunted”.

The arrow pierced through the initial sword’s chakra and clashed with the metal body. The arrow, no a lion charged my sword, the energy traveled through it into the Heavens Sword, trying to tear its way through but that wasn’t the case. Instead the impact returned in the arrow itself and it started to break in pieces. The energy was not enough to pass through the Strength of Frozen Fang, so it tried to push my body backwards in the mid air and I accepted it, then the impact returned in the arrow itself trying to find a way out of it. It didn’t find any so it destroyed the arrow itself. My body swung in the air downward now I was completely horizontal, floating in the air.

It was dark around me and I imagined a window right above my head, shining light on my floating body. It was burning the power inside me and I loved the feeling. I have never enjoyed a feeling like that since forever now. “Its been a long time master” I called him, “would you like to witness a new height of my power” I replied to a imaginary voice that was never heard. “We will fight again, master. And the victory will be mine”, “mine…” it echoed in my head as I came back to the forest. The time hasn’t pass by. I then saw two arrows. One was aimed for my leg and the other for torso. Since I was completely horizontal they flew in the open air above and beneath me and stabbed the closest tree that came in their possession. Before this I saw the floating tags around them and I instantly knew that it was the same trick.
“As expected, after disabling my arm he will aim for my leg making me unable to walk or run and then the torso for me to suffer pain and accept defeat. He doesn’t know a very important fact; he is up against an Uchiha.”

After the arrow passed, I swung my sword in 360 degrees, spinning myself to the closes tree, I gripped one of the branch and with another swing I was at the far right corner of the area, away from the arrows that with a blast exploded a second ago. Our vision is now completely blocked. Its time to revise my plan:
“If he is as smart as I think, he might have calculated by know that the time took for the arrows to blast is more than he expected so that means they didn’t get me. In-fact now I know his last location without even using my Sharingan. I will keep it a surprise weapon since all my strength is still locked inside my eyes, which is still unknown to him. Judging by the type of his play, he is a trusted, old and experienced Iwagakure ninja looking for a little fun. But he will never let his comrades get hurt even if it’s an animal. Time to lure him out” That clicked and stopped my trail of thought and at the same moment I heard a beautiful cry of a panicked horse. “How careless of you my friend…”

I darted towards a futile horse expecting him to do the same. I caught her glance before him, it seemed like I was closer to the horse. I hid in the tree. “Time to wait for my friend to arrive” chakra poured in my hands as I was waiting for his arrival to protect the horse, ready for the real show to begin. *smirk*
