✦ Jinbe is a large blue man with a stocky build similar to a sumo wrestler and a face that is commonly associated with various Japanese demons such as the oni. His yellow eyebrows and sideburns are distinctly shaped like those found on such demons, in addition to a bulb-like nose and an angular lower lip pointing upwards. He has a lightning-shaped scar that can be seen from his left side burn and reaching over his left eye which he obtained sometime between the arrival at Kumo and meeting Broly. His teeth from the upper and lower rows are pretty much the same, albeit much smaller. He also has a severe underbite.
He has long, two-toned black hair, with two long stripes, colored gold in the manga and white in the anime, coming from the roots over his forehead and trailing down the back, a topknot, and tuft of hair on his chin with a slight green hue.
Jinbei often wears a traditional kimono with various patters.

✦ Jinbei is a man of great honor and simplicity. He holds his standards high and possesses thick moral roots. Despite his pride, Jinbe appears to put his priorities and principles over his honor, and is not above retreating from an otherwise unfinished battle (despite being shamed or openly mocked by an opponent) if it was for the sake of the greater good. He also does not seem to hesitate from encouraging others to do likewise for a similar cause. Jinbe has also displayed great humility regarding his personal strength and status, a trait not unique among the Gyojin.

Then, as you rise amongst the clan’s rank, a clansman develops/is taught some new abilities: a strong affinity with water (being able to use B-rank and under without handseals as well as defining their resistance to water jutsus, being unaffected by C-rank and under), a new branch of taijutsu called Gyojin Karate (customs to be submitted), the ability to sense bodies of water and everything inside a water source, and ultimately high rank clansman are allowed to sign the contract with the mighty Sea Kings (custom to be submitted).

✦ Relative to his appearance, Jinbei was born in Kirigakure. During the time of the Gyojin's fall, his father was the clan head. Rumored to fight Madara and Hashirama themselves, Jinbe's father was powerful to say the least. Possessing the clan's sacred bloodline, Jinbe was held in very high regards since childhood. Sent away shortly after birth to Amegakure, Jinbe grew up in the pathetic village honing his skills in Water while also learning how to manipulate the rain. After learning to control the rain, Jinbe knew the rain had nothing further to offer him so he went to Kumogakure to become a Taijutsu master. Staying in the Cloud for a long time, Jinbe's only reason for leaving was the rumour of his clan leader, Vayne being stationed in the rock. He would set travel to the Boulder of the Ninja World where he would be reconnected with his leader and become a Earth specialist.
