Jin Uzumaki was the son of Ami Uzumaki and Kazuya Uchiha. He was a gifted ninja, achieving the rank of Genin by 5 and Chuunin by 10.
(Pre-Pilot Arc)
Days after Jin was born, the Kyuubi attacked Konoha. His parent left to aid the other ninjas. As a result, Ami died and Kazuya fled from the battle.Five years after the attack, Jin became a Genin and wished his parents could see him. When Mizuki told him that his father abandoned his mother to die during the battle, Jin was angered by his father's actions. He abandoned the name of Uchiha and adopted his mother's maiden name. Before he could be assigned a Squad Leader, Jin left on a journey to find his father. Three years into his investigation, Jin was attacked by a squad of Jonin-level Sand ninja. He managed to defeat them, but not without gaining mortal wounds himself. He regained consciousness in the Konohagakure Infirmary, greet by the face of his newly assigned Squad Leader, Ryuu Hokisuru. Jin and Ryuu quickly became friends. He was then introduced to his new squad members, Mei Watanabe and Hayate Mishima. At first, he disliked them for their lack of seriousness and discipline. Squad 9's first mission was to aid the teachers in Konoha Academy. Here he met Naruto, who he caught fighting with a class bully. When Ryuu told him that Naruto held the Kyuubi within him, Jin was furious but quickly came to realize that Naruto couldn't have done anything that happened five years ago. He quickly came to relate to Naruto since they both had no parents for a majority of their lives. Over the years, Jin has quickly earned a name for himself. He completed 53 D, 20 C, 11 B, 8 A, and 3 S missions on his own. Soon after his 10th birthday, Squad 9 took on the Chuunin Exams, with Mei and Jin successfully gaining the rank of Chuunin.
(Chuunin Exam Arc)
3 years passed since his own Chuunin Exams, and his newest mission was to aid the proctors during the new upcoming Chuunin Exams. For the first phase of the Chuunin Exams, Jin helped set up the Testing Area and the Waiting Room for the Genin. Shortly before the second phase of Exams, the proctors held a meeting to discuss how to stop Genin from looking in the scrolls. Jin suggested placing a sleeping genjutsu into the scroll so it only activates when opened. The proctors agreed this was the best way to go, and assigned Jin to take back any Genin who were terribly injured or unconscious back to Konoha. Jin then watched the preliminaries and the finals and was impressed by Naruto's victories. When Jin saw through Kabuto's sleeping genjutsu, he left to help the rest of Squad 9 defend against the invasion. Jin fully placed his trust in his teammates and managed to defeat two Orochimaru's Snakes before Jiraiya came and took out the rest of the snakes. Jin attended the Third Hokage's Funeral, he left to help rebuild the village.
(Filler Arc) After Jin heard that Naruto was leaving to train under Jiraiya, he vowed to train hard and earn enough strength to search for his father.
