Considering that Jashin is actually a real god in the NV, why hasn't anyone else tried tried to exploit the power of immortality? I would exploit the power hungry Madara would attempt to use this, or Sasuke when he was seeking revenge on Itachi. And Hidan is severely underrated IMO.

There were others. Just not important ones. How else would Hidan have found out about or lord and savior Jashin?

Also, most of the characters were as surprised as the readers about Jashin and Hidan's immortality. It's most likely a secret cult that only few know of.

Jashin doesn't exist, that is what I think. It's just a figure which is worshiped like an actual god which might not even exist. I don't think that Hidan's power is something given by a god Jashin but rather his own ability which he probably learned when he joined a sect looking up to the god in which they believe and teach everyone this ability in exchange of the ritual a member would do to make an offering to their god through sacrificing their victim by that ritual.

Took his brothers eyes, Madara used Kurama, took Hashirama's dna, had mokuton transplanted in him later in life, stole sage mode from Hashirama, and than sealed the Jubi in him.

Yeah, he liked to rely on his own powers. (I have to say though, he did need ems).
