Kurapika had just woke up to the news of Konohagakure being attacked by the infamous Akatsuki when he went out of the village in haste. He did not have time to ask for permission from the Tsuchikage or any of the village officials. All he could think of was at the time was the connection his mind made between the Akatsuki and the Genei Ryodan that slaughtered the inhabitants of his village many years ago.
"The Genei Ryodan could merely be a cover name they used to hide their trail at the time. It goes along well with the fact that a group so powerful would go almost unknown in the ninja villages and the great nations." He thought as he passed the Land of Earth's borders. "I might not be nearly strong enough to defeat an Akatsuki member right now, but Konohagakure is home to formidable shinobi. All I need is to capture one of them after all."
Kurapika continued to elaborate the advantages of his rash decision as he took off his headbadge, as if his monologue was nothing but a desperate attempt to defend a decision he knew deep down was a wrong one. Him having to take off his headbadge to protect his village from the consequences of his decision easily symbolized it too.
Suddenly Kurapika's line of toughts was interrupted by a Shinobi who seemed to be patrolling the area. He had only then realized that he was withing the land of fire's territory.

The sun was shining bright with clear blue skies. Looking at the sky, Jakai couldn't help but smile. He could feel the warmth on his skin, the breeze pass through his hair. It was all so... peaceful. His mind was wandering. There was no clear thought he was thinking. Each step was a new thought, and with every next movement, that thought was lost. Jakai was making his rounds, as usual, and was prepared as usual. He had both his katana against the left side of his waist, with his right hand calmly placed on top of one of the handles. Whenever he was patrolling, Jakai had his Sharingan active, to ensure he was prepared for anything, not that he'd expect it. However, today was different.

If the user is Sannin Rank or above and has gained his 3 Tomoe Sharingan and held it for one month, he becomes able to passively activate it, meaning he'll no longer spend a move of his 3 per turn. I don't recognize that color. Jakai then realized the man had noticed Jakai himself. With the element of surprise lost, Jakai confronted the shinobi. You're entering the Land of Fire's territory. Whatever you have planned, it's not going to happen. Jakai would then cast a Genjutsu to affect his senses. The illusion would appear as though Jakai was vanishing, slowing fading out of sight from top to bottom. Jakai would then eventually be completely out of sight. The genjutsu would also affect the man's hearing, causing him to hear Jakai's voice from all around, making it impossible to identify where the sound was coming from. State your business immediately.

Kurapika quickly assumed a fighting stance, with his right leg ahead of his left and his right arm raised up as if meaning to touch his left shoulder.
"I mean Konohagakure no harm, but I'm afraid I must breach into its territory uninvited. I assume there is no way I can peacefully convince you to step aside?" Kurapika calmly responded to the ninja's announcement, realizing from his facial expressions that the answer was an obvious no. "Akatsuki is attacking your village, I am only heading there to fight them" he added desperately despite knowing it wouldn't change a thing, if not slim down his chances.
While speaking, Kurapika was scanning the appearance of the Konohan ninja carefully, instantly noticing his active sharingan eyes. He knew from that instant that his coming battle was not going to be as easy as he would wish for. However, he was sent into unrest when the man started to fade out and thought that he must have been caught in a Genjutsu. However, there was still that that might be exactly what his opponent wanted him to believe. 'What if he really is fading?' It struck him as his already risen arm swung outwards almost involuntarily, sending a blade hooked to one of his five chains flying towards the fading man's location.
But the chance that he could be in a genjutsu did not leave Kurapika's thoughts and so his left hand quickly followed his right to make the handseals needed to release a full body surge of lightning chakra. This is meant to double as a layer of protection in case an attack is approaching him while he is caught in the genjutsu.

Jakai noticed the man had thrown a weapon towards him, while still in the Genjutsu, a clever move. Jakai had to dodge, so he swiftly jumped out of the way. Jakai thought for a moment to himself. He's more cunning than I thought. Still though, I can't trust him. How can he mean no harm yet still breach into our territories without a reason. Jakai then noticed the man had escaped his genjutsu. In retaliation, Jakai had prepared his next move by the time his lightning currents would cease.
Jakai quickly preforms a set of 3 handseals while moulding his chakra. As he does so, he creates a whip of water that he grabs and lashes towards the man (after he stopped the Chidori Nagashi), wrapping around his body and constricting his movements. After he is caught, Jakai surges lightning through the water whip, causing lightning to reach the man and shock him. The shock from the lightning is enough to completely paralyze the man.

Type: Offensive/Supplementary Rank: C Range: Short - Mid Chakra Cost: 15 Damage Points: 30 Description: After the user performs a series of 3 hand seals Rat → Dog → Ox, the user creates a whip of water that can be used to strike the opponent with a lashing action or wrap around the target to bind them. This technique can also have lightning techniques channeled through when they have bound their victim with the water whip.
(Raiton: Chidori Nagashi) — Lightning Release: One Thousand Birds Current
Type: Offensive/Defensive Rank: A Range: Short (Mid if Channeled Through a Medium) Chakra Cost: 30 Damage Points: N/A (+10 if used to Boost Weapon Damage) Description: This jutsu allows the user to generate non-focused electricity from their body. It can be used as an omnidirectional attack or be channeled through weapons, the ground or other conductive mediums. Because the electricity isn't focused, it doesn't kill on contact, instead it has great numbing and paralyzing effects. To channel Nagashi through a medium, the user needs to focus the technique into one of his hands which will then be put in contact with the medium and can only choose to either do a widespread attack throughout his whole body or to channel it into something; he cannot achieve both usages at the same time. Despite not having much destructive or damaging properties, Nagashi can be used to destroy low rank earthen and wooden structures and even negate chakra on the ground to stop high ranked earth and wood techniques. It has also been noted that Lightning Specialists that have mastered Lightning to the highest degree can resist total paralyzation, although they still feel the pain and numbing effects.
Note: Paralyzation lasts 1 turn if sucessful but is ineffective against bios who have a primary Lightning Specialty.
In a blink of an eye Kurapika was brought back to reality, and in another blink he began to grasp the situation. His opponent was indeed casting a Genjutsu upon him and that wasn't the height of it. He has also elegantly avoided his chain despite the speed in which he threw it in and part of his attention being consumed by the genjutsu he was casting.
His opponent was already making the handseals for his next attack and Kurapika felt vulnerable. He finally understood it at that moment, that he ran the risk of defeat, that he might never get even close to the Akatsuki. He could possibly even die right there.
All it took was that hint of fear sneaking into his heart to make him go into a state of frenzy. And even if it couldn't be seen on his face beyond the sudden twitch and the widening of his eyes, it was about to show in his actions about to come.
Without hesitation he pulled back the chain, which had previously missed its target, by swinging his right arm back and pulling the chain, making the chain wrap around his opponent's leg with help from the heavier blade as he launches the water whip towards him. However, without a delay, Kurapika instantly joined his right arm back with his left, quicker than the chain reaching his opponent and barely a moment before the whip would catch his two joined arms which he shielded himself with. He knew his opponent wouldn't be able to wield his whip as accurately while having to deal with his chain at the same time.
With his hands joined, Kurapika made a single handseal that made his hands start to glow with a bluish flashing light and produce a loud shrieking sound unpleasant to the ear. It was sheer raiton chakra emitting from both hands simultaneously, one connected to the chain and the other making contact with the water whip wrapping around it. Lightning flowed through both mediums and towards the Uchiha.

Clapping his hands together, the user can unleash that massive amount of lightning chakra into the form of a powerful Thunderbolt directed at the target. The technique is best used if the user has a height advantage in relation to the target. The thunderbolt is strong enough to leave a giant crater and cannot be used while being in Short-range of the target, at the risk of being hit also.
