Fire release uses the Katon chakra nature. It is one of the 5 elements in naruto, and it is strong against wind, because wind makes fire stronger, but weak against water, because it can naturally put it out. It is common in konohagakure for some reason, and the Uchiha clan have a strong affinity with it because the amatersu is the highest form of fire.

It can be used with lightning, or wind to make it much stronger and more effective.

Some people who use it are:
Sasuke Uchiha
Itachi Uchiha
Two Tails
Jiraya

Well, like in Kirin, sasuke changes the weather with a fireball, then the cumulonimbus clouds are formed so sasuke can change the shape of it and lead the lightning into the enemy..

Or if you shoot fire, then lightning it would hurt more xD

well first off fire is extremely hot, flames are constantly moving. They can be extremely powerful, and big fires, or timid and small fires. Fires need oxygen to maintain lit. There are also different colors of fire, the lighter the color the hotter the flame. Flames are very unusual because they are a mix of gasses and solids emitting infared, or if the flame is powerful enough ultraviolet rays.
