I dont know if this theory has been floating around but do you guys think Jack is a fishman that ate a devil fruit (Zou Zou no Mi, Model: Mammoth)?
That's why he's just laying under the water waiting for someone to help him out? Its a stretch but i think it could be possible

I mean he has the fishman teeth and hes not drowning in the water just cant move as the DF side effect.

You say that although we have not seen him in colour and hes wearing lots of cloths. The gills and features could be under what hes wearing also he could have put body mods on idk. I still think it is very possible. Maybe he never liked being a fishman so he covered his mouth and put more mods on. This is oda we are talking about

Wasn't Vander Decken only wearing the bubble so he wouldn't be weakened by the water, not so he could breathe ? If jack is a fishman, it makes sense he would be able to breathe underwater.

What other options are there that does not trash the established devil-fruit rules? That Smiles are devil-fruits which allow its user to swim under water? Yet Jack is under water unable to move. Also, I doubt Smiles can replicate powers that of mythical Zoan devil-fruits.

He's not Mythical though. Also, if we're talking about Mythical Zoans, surely Momonosuke would come under that category if it was a regular DF.

Jack has an Ancient Zoan Fruit, which in practice is just a normal Zoan for an extinct creature.
