Sasuke has experienced dieodra's c1 c2 and c3, but also has already figured out that it uses earth element.

He thought that big ass bomb (c4) was a massive bomb, so he started to make a run for it. He already got a bit of distance between him and the bomb before it detonated. The animals had no idea what was going on and didnt make a run for it, they stayed at the same place therefore they would inhale it first.

He then turned backed after it exploded and was able to see the cloud it forms due to the ability that the sharigan grants.

With him already gaining abit of ground on c4, but also able to see it, he then used the info he gained when he saw that deidora uses earth element and used chidori on himself.


Now if jiraiya was to fight diedora, he doesnt have the sharigan. I dont know whether he would be able to see through diedora's handseals and note that its earth element he uses.

Lets say he saw c4. He would also start to make a run for it for obvious reasons. One c4 detonates, he would have no idea what is going on, because he cannot see the bombs. His eyes doesnt grant him the ability to see chakra as colour. He would be more or less dumbfounded, by c4. He most likely wouldnt know what is going on but also, but also wouldnt know whether diedora uses earth element, but also does have lighting based attacks.

Unfortunately, J-man has no counter to nano bombs. He cannot see them, or deactivate them because he has never shown an affinity to lightning. Therefore it would auto kill him.

To be honest C4 seems like a last resort technique and sensing the nano-bombs might be possible if Jiraiya uses his barrier. Deidara got the case of the Uchiha pretty bad before even considering it. IMO things would end before that.
