I know some may disagree some may agree but lets face it.... Izuna Uchiha being Tobi would have made the story 10000x better because now it just makes Obito seem like a panzy for turning on Madara instead of Izuna who would have just wanted revenge against his brother.
First of all, the storyline as to why Izuna plunged into darkness would have made more sense considering there were 2 accounts where it was stated Madara Stole his brother eyes:
Next, I'd like to talk about how Tobi use S/T ninjutsu.
Izuna MS being S/T ninjutsu would have been the perfect reason as to why Tobirama invented S/T as a means to counter Izuna or vice versa.
Would also explain how Tobirama killed inzuna
As far as Madara coming back.... If you look at the earlier parts of the manga when Kabuto resurrected the Real Madara you notice that Tobi was not too thrilled to see the Real Madara:
But on to the plot... if Izuna was Tobi...It would have made more sense as to why Izuna cursed Kabuto when he ressurected the Real Madara on the Battlefield.
Izuna would have easily backstabbed Madara as Obito is about to very soon and helped kill the Ten Tails or helped it go on a rampage for what his brother did to him.
Would make much more sense as to why Tobi was so hateful and corrupt and is showing such negativity towards Madara currently.
Finally, in the end Izuna seeing his brother alive would make more sense for him to seal his brother away to get revenge rather than helping his brother with the moons eye plan.
It just seems Sad that Obito is turning into a wimpy kid over a child crush.
