Description: User creates a whirlwind of slicing wind. Originally used by Temari with her fan, there is a way to create this jutsu without a weapon. Performing quickly handseals, the user will gather his Fuuton chakra into the lungs to blow out a sharp gust of wind, which in conjunction with the handseals will create a gust of violent slashing wind. The wind created is strong enough to push the opponent back or create 2 inch deep slashes to his body, however the user cannot direct slashes.

The first thing that you will need to do is explain the wind element to me. I'm making you do this again since you are a wind element student specifically. I would like you to tell me the basic strengths and weaknesses of the element, how these strengths and weaknesses can be used to your advantage or your disadvantage, what the wind element personifies to you, and why you find the wind element interesting or if you don't find it interesting, why you have that opinion. And basically anything else you want to say about wind relevant to the training and RP.

Note: Being a wind element student of mine, there is one preliminary reading after you answer this question. Be prepared.

Wind is one of the five basic elements. Wind element is weak to fire but strong against lightening style. In combat a simple d rank wind style Jutsu can counter a c rank Jutsu. You can use winds weakness to fire to strengthen the fire from a simple b rank to an a rank Jutsu. If I attack my opponent with lightening style they counter my Jutsu with a wind style Jutsu that's one rank below. If my wind style Jutsu clashes with my lightening they cancel each other out. Fire style can be used to overpower my wind style Jutsu. Wind style signafies to me balance, freedom, relaxation, calmness, speed, power, and a neutral temperament. I find wind style very interesting because I feel like it represents member well based off what it signafies to me.

Soliloquy on Wind​

The wind element is truly unique. It is well known that the wind element is my favorite element and was the first element that I learned, that is why I went through the trouble of creating the Atmospheric Pressure element. I wanted to take the wind element to the next level. Trying to explain the ways wind can be used is almost pointless. The ways are endless, one must just be able to attune to learning how to use wind. Yes, it is very true that the wind element is mainly an offensive element but you cannot be restricted. The wind element can also defend as well in its attacks, you just need to keep your mind open. The versatility is one of the reason why the wind element is my favorite. Unlike earth or water, wind exist everywhere. Without it life cannot exist. Where ever you can go, you cannot do there with wind. The pride of the wind element like you said is it's ability to cut. A master of wind must be able to sharpen their winds to extreme levels to be able to cut through anything through sharpening their own self discipline, this is how far I have taken my Atmospheric Pressure element. The winds that it possesses are so strong that is has far surpassed mere cutting, the element instantly turns whatever it touches into dust by cutting at an unimaginable speed and concentration.

The wind element has an unique relationship with other elements. Lightning an element with incredible potency, an element that can burst through fire, destroy earth, electrocute water, even though such destruction is caused by it, the wind element cancels it out. The wind element does not permit lightning through it. Lightning is an element of pure destruction, unlike the four other elements that come together to create the basis of life, lightning is the opposite. It is pure death, yet wind quells it. It is true that wind is weak against fire but is it not for the reason that fire needs wind. Without wind fire cannot exist. When used correctly the wind element is not weakened by fire, it is empowered. The user can create deadlier attacks using this combination. The water element can also be used to strengthen wind, the user can combine both water and wind to create attacks that can quell the largest of fires. Both of these examples shows the substance contained within the wind element. The wind element is the source that allows fire and water to be able to become stronger. Without wind, fire and water would remain weak. The earth element does not directly interact with the wind element, over time wind is what shapes earth altogether. The erosion produced by wind gives shapes to many rocks and mountains, even turning earth into sand over time. The Atmospheric Pressure element turns all earth and metals into sand instantly as a testament to wind.

The wind element to means personifies one thing; change. Change is the entire concept of wind. The wind element never stays still and never stays in one place. One with the wind, is one without rest. Wind represents change because of its interaction with the environment, as you said wind can be very peaceful. As you are walking through this forest right now, you feel that gentle breeze across your face do you not. Is this gentle wind not soothing to the touch and relaxing? I would say it is. You say this because of what you have experienced. But wind can change at any time. How would it feel if you were standing in front of an F-5 tornado coming toward you paying no regard to life, destroying all in its path. Would it not be frightening? Standing there alone, unable to move due to terror as it rages toward you. Thus you must pay close heed to the wind element, though it has to power to be your friend and give you great strength in battle, when used incorrectly it will become your greatest foe. The wind will over power you and turn against you. You must have great discipline over yourself but also be flexible to necessary change if you ever want to become a true master of the Wind element, then to take it beyond.

To me, wind is the element of a warrior; you either live with wind or you die with wind. Have you have seen me use the Hurricane Fist technique to avoid attacks like all these people are doing nowadays? No. I prefer to take things head on. Wind isn't exactly an element that suits everyone, its song is sour and its taste is bitter. Mastering wind and implementing it in battle takes commitment and dedication. Sometimes it may be easier to simply use fire or water, but who wants to take the easy way out. Only one way works for me. The way of the silent predator, the roaring lion, the ghastly paladin. The way of the wind.

Description: The users gathers his Fuuton chakra into the lungs to blow out a sphere of air at his target that can blow backwards the opponent and small objects around him.


Nothing too difficult to understand here. It requires no hand seals and simply is a sphere of wind blasted toward the opponent. The user simply focuses wind chakra in his lungs and forms it into a blast which is released from the mouth. The sphere of wind has decent physical power on impact but not great cutting power. The technique can be combined to speed up projectiles or with fire or water to form a combo. Use a fire technique that is stronger to overtake the wind or a water blast to cancel the blasts out while spreading water across the battlefield for strategic use.

Description: The user releases a gust of wind after forming the Ram handseal, that forms several small tornadoes. Combined with Fire Release: Running Fire that forms a circle on ground level, this creates a massive flaming hurricane.



You perform one hand seal and release a large amount of wind to create small miniature cyclones. After you release the wind, you separate the wind into equal parts and move the parts to different locations. You cause the wind chakra that you released to start spiraling and picking up the air around it. Once it has picked up enough air and has forced the air to spiral around the center you can direct these cyclones toward your opponent. The best way to use this technique is to surround your opponent from different directions with the tornadoes to cause them to defend from all directions while you can attack them again while they are busy. The best way to guard is to just use a large enough fire technique that it consumes all the wind tornadoes before they can surround you and then continue to attack the opponent.

Once I have enough wind style charka I release it. As I am releasing my charka I exhale. A wind sphere appears and knocks hits a tree. I mold my charka into the palms of my hands. Once I have enough charka I mold into wind style charka. Once I have enough wind style I form a ram hand seal. I release the wind charka causing a miniature cyclone to appear. Than I separate the wind into several parts. Slowly after a few seconds several cyclones appear and surround one tree. The cyclones make contact and destroy the tree

This is how I will train you: I will first post the technique and the describe it in my own words, and then state a few sentences about the usefulness of the technique both offensively and defensively. I would like you to respond by by telling me:

- whether or not you find the technique useful or interesting

I would like a few sentences for each point or a few bullets. Whatever you prefer. I'll be going at 2 to 3 techniques per post to keep the training moving. But I may do one technique for certain techs I feel deserve them.

Technique 1:

I take a deep breath in. As I am inhaling I start to mold my charka into my lungs. Once I have enough charka I change the nature of my charka into wind style. Once I have enough wind style charka I release it. As I am releasing my charka I exhale. A wind sphere appears would head directly towards my opponent.

I would use this technique offensively by using it in combination with a fire ball Jutsu to increase the fire balls destructive powers.
I would use it to spread water around the battlefield to increase the power of a lightening technique

I could using earth hiding like a mole to go underground and evade my opponent.
I could use a fire ball to over power the wind.
I could use earth wall to block the technique.
- whether or not you find the technique useful or interesting
I find the technique interesting because it can be a versatile technique in battle
I find it less than useful in most battles because with out another Jutsu to back it up its just a basic wind technique that the opponent can black with a simple d rank technique.

Technique 2:

I mold my charka into the palms of my hands. Once I have enough charka I mold into wind style charka. Once I have enough wind style I form a ram hand seal. I release the wind charka causing a miniature cyclone to appear. Than I separate the wind into several parts. Slowly after a few seconds several cyclones appear and surround my opponent.

I would use this technique offensively by itself to corner my opponent.
I would use it in combination with a fire style Jutsu.

I could use substitution Jutsu to evade it
I could use earth tunneling technique to evade it as well.

This Jutsu is useful if you use a technique that requires your target cornered.
Do to its lack of versatility I find this Jutsu not interesting

(Fūton: Kami Oroshi) - Wind Release: Godly Wind From The Mountain

Description: This technique after performing the required hand seals Tiger → Snake → Ram creates a vortex of wind to blast at a target. It can be used in a combo with Fire Release: Running Fire and Earth Release: Earth Corridor to release a massive inferno at the opponents while they are trapped within the confined space of the earth.


The user performs 3 hand seals and releases their own wind into the air and causes it to spiral picking up the natural wind in the atmosphere. The wind is shaped into a narrow vortex that travels toward the opponent almost in snake-like fashion and knocks the opponent down. The technique can be used as above in a combo, or with any fire technique for a combo. The vortex nature of this technique makes it interesting as unlike a wind blast it can move around and confuse the opponent. A good way to use this technique would be to attack the opponent from the side with the vortex while at the same time sending another attack from a different direction to make them go on the defensive. To defend against the technique just use a fire technique that can overcome it.



(Fūton: Jūha Shō) - Wind Release: Beast Wave Strike

Description: A powerful technique of wind nature chakra that can cut and slash through any material. The user activates it by summoning chakra in his right hand, and then swipes a slicing chakra wave which appears to be controlled by the users will and thoughts. They are also able to use the technique in a rapid-fire, successive motion creating up to three cresent blades of wind.



This technique requires no hand seals and only works in close range. It is best used to strengthen punches in short range. The user simply channels a large amount of wind chakra into their hand then swipes its across their body creating crescent wind blades. The jutsu can be used to create several wind blades but this will make each individual wind blade weaker than if only one wind blade was used. Use one wind blade if you're looking for power or several if you're looking to occupy your opponent for other attacks. Defend against the technique with any stronger wind or fire blast. Or use another technique that create a hand-like structure to cancel each other out following the appropriates strengths and weaknesses keep in mind i.e. lightning has to be one rank higher to cancel out.

Once I have completed changing my Charka into wind style I do the following three hand signs Tiger → Snake → Ram. Once I complete the ram hand seal I take a deep breath. Than I exhale and release my Charka into my breath allowing a snake like vortex to appear.
- how you will use the technique offensively
I would use this technique offensively by combing it up with fire style to increase how much damage it does.
I would use an earth Jutsu to get behind my opponent and fire this Jutsu off.
I would add water style to prevent the opponent from overcoming this Jutsu with fire style.
- how you can defend against the tech
I would use a d rank fire Jutsu to defeat it.
I would use earth style to evade the wind style Jutsu.
- whether or not you find the technique useful or interesting
I find the Jutsu useful in combat because often times you gain the ability to confine your opponent. I don't find this Jutsu interesting because it requires you to use the Jutsu when you opponent is confined.

Second technique
- how you would perform the technique in battle
I mold my Charka into the palm of my left hand. Once I have enough Charka built up in my left hand I change its nature to wind style. Once I have enough wind style Charka in my palms I take a swipe across my body. As I am doing this I release my Charka. This creates a blade of wind.
- how you will use the technique offensively
I would use this technique offensively when I am long range because an earth Jutsu will allow me to close the distance
I would add fire Charka to my wind blade to strengthen its destructive power.
I would add water style Charka to the Jutsu to prevent my opponent from blocking it with a simple fire style.
- how you can defend against the tech
I would use a fire style Jutsu to block it.
I would use earth style to defend against it.
I would earth style to evade it.
- whether or not you find the technique useful or interesting
The Jutsus usefulness is limited to short range.
The Jutsu is interesting because it can increase the cutting power of your wind technique.

(Fūton: Kazekiri) - Wind Style: Wind Cutter

Description: User will create a slicing wind gust which is used to divide and neutralize a Wind attack launched against him. It splits an incoming wind attack of lower or equal strength and makes it harmless.



This jutsu has no offensive capabilities. It simply a defense against pure wind jutsu of the same or lower rank. It simply utilizes the users wind chakra to attack the opponents wind jutsu and cut the technique is half and cause the wind inside of the opponents jutsu to move in two separate directions. When the wind moves in two separate directions it'll cause the blast to lose its momentum as it loses its rotation and speed and cause the wind jutsu to disperse. This jutsu will never be used offensively so there is no real way to defend, and defensively its just used to cancel out other wind techniques of same or equal power. I would personally use a stronger wind jutsu or a stronger fire jutsu instead of this one. I find no real use.


(Fūton: Hanachiri no Mai) - Wind Release: Flower Scattering Dance

Description: This technique after performing the required hand seals Tiger → Hare → Dragon allows the user to summon a cyclone of petals to attack their opponent. The user can remain in one spot for the use of the technique, because he or she can direct it anywhere they desire. Therefore, the user can increase the direction and power of the technique to the maximum as a last resort.


This technique uses three hand seals and summons a cyclone of petals. The ninja then focuses his wind chakra around the petals and creates a vortex in which all the petals are captured and wraps the cyclone in sakura petals. The technique is very versatile as it can be altered from spot to spot to prevent the opponent from just running away. The technique can even be increased in strength to make it stronger than regular C-rank wind jutsu. I find the technique very flamboyant and extravagant. I would personally use this technique just because of the sakura petals. If you want to be known as a finesse RPer then techniques such as these can be trademarks. To guard against it use a wide range fire technique because small techniques can be avoided if you wish to move the cyclone. Offensively, you can use it in one spot or better yet on the move to attack you opponent with the versatile cyclone while preparing for other attack.

I find it interesting for an offensive type element to have a defense only jutsu. Its rather useful against wind style techniques.

Second Jutsu:

I mold my charka into the palm of my hands. Once I have enough charka I change its nature to wind style. Once I have enough wind Charka I do the following hand seals Tiger → Hare → Dragon. This releases a vortex of wind that brings flower petals flying towards my target.
- how you will use the technique offensively
I would use this Jutsu in combination with a genjutsu
I would add fire style to the mix to roast my opponent.
- how you can defend against the tech
I would defend against this technique by using fire style of D rank.
- whether or not you find the technique useful or interesting
I find this technique interesting because your using flowers to attack your opponent.
I find this technique useful because it can be combo in multiple ways.

(Fūton: Kujaku Senpū) - Wind Release: Peacock Whirlwind

Description: This technique utilizes wind chakra into the users sword and then they swing it to create a powerful whirlwind of gusts of wind by releasing the wind chakra in sync with the swing of the sword.


This is a more advanced version of channeling wind chakra into a projectile or sword. The process starts out the same. The user will focus large amounts of wind chakra into their sword, and evenly spread the chakra along the edge of the blade. After this the technique gets more advanced. When the user swings the sword, the user also releases the wind chakra in the edge during the course of the swing so that the wind is released from the blade and becomes a whirlwind of sharp fine gusts that follow the path of the swing. This is a good technique to increase the cutting power of your technique, or to follow up behind a fire jutsu since this one doesn't require hand seals. I like this technique as because you are simply charging your sword with wind chakra, it can be used to greatly enhance your free form sword usage. Defending against it isn't very hard, using a stronger wind jutsu or fire jutsu to block the gusts is always an option. Moving out of the the gusts path would also work. Defending depends on how masterfully your opponent uses this technique.

I would follow this technique up with a genjutsu to prevent my opponent from seeing it coming

I would use a genjutsu to prevent my opponent from molding his charka
I would use a fire style jutsu to counter it
- whether or not you find the technique useful or interesting
This jutsu is bland
Its useful if your opponent can't counter it in

Second jutsu

I draw my sword out its sheath. I start to mold my charka into my blade. Once I have enough charka I change its nature to wind style. Once I have enough wind style charka I coat it around the blades edges. Than I swing my sword and release the charka. This creates a whirlwind of sharp fine gusts heading towards my target.
- how you will use the technique offensively
I would add a fire style jutsu to increase its destructive capabilities.
I would add a water style jutsu to increase the damage it does
- how you can defend against the tech
I would use hiding like a mole or a D rank fire style jutsu
- whether or not you find the technique useful or interesting
I find it interesting because you can use it in different situation and its a rather useful technique in combat if you specialize in close combat

(Fūton: Kaze Rasen Yaiba no justu) - Wind Release: Wind Spinning Blade Technique

Description: The user uses their Giant Folding fan or Giant Fan and swing it forwards at the target creating a single spinning disk of wind that ressembles a demon wind shuriken. A non wielder of the Giant Folding Fan or Giant Fan can perform this technique with use of two hand seals and releasing wind from their mouth and using shape manipulation to form the disk of wind.


Ignore all the fan description as most people don't carry fans, and I don't carry a fan in my bio either. I find it to be a cool technique but basic at its core. After doing 2 hand seals, the user will shape wind chakra in their mouth into the form of a disc and release it. The technique can essentially be used as a mid range saw to cut objects before they get close to you. You can use it to cut earth jutsu or to cut through lightning blasts. The disk could be even be enhanced with fire to make it a dual element combo. Guarding against it is similar to other wind projectile type attacks, fire jutsu or stronger wind. Even a stronger lightning jutsu to cancel out both techniques would work if you feel the need to finesse.


(Futon: Joushou Arashi Kabe no Jutsu) - Wind Release: Rising Tempest Wall Technique

Description: The user will first strike their target into the air with their Giant folding fan or Giant War fan and then follow up with releasing a blast of wind pushing the target back. Normal users can release a blast of wind to send them back if they do not possess a Giant folding fan or Giant war fan.


For ninja who don't use a fan in their bio, the technique involves channeling chakra in your lungs then releasing a wind blast. The technique doesn't require any hand seals, and is a simple blast of wind. The blast of wind can be used to knock your opponent back, but it won't cause great cutting damage to them, this technique is more of a blunt wind blast. The wind blast can be used to push projectiles away as well. Since it doesn't require hand seals its is good technique to use will attacking your opponent with taijutsu. Keep in mind that it is only short range. You can easily avoid it by moving out of range, or by creating a wall to absorb the impact of the wind blast. Fire or stronger wind works as usual.

I would use a simple d rank fire style Jutsu that covers wide range to over come this Jutsu
I would use hiding in the mist to blind my opponent

- whether or not you find the technique useful or interesting
This jutsu is dull because it was built more towards a fan
Its useful if your opponent hasn't learned fire style

Second jutsu
- how you would perform the technique in battle
I mold my Charka into my lungs. Once I have enough Charka I change its nature to wind style. I would than inhale. As I exhale I would combine my Charka into my breath. This causes a simple blast of wind to appear.

I would add it to a water style Jutsu to its offensive power
I would use a genjutsu to trick my target into thinking the Jutsu disappeared

- how you can defend against the tech
I would use hiding in the mist or a D rank fire style jutsu

- whether or not you find the technique useful or interesting
Its dull because it was built for war fans in combat
It's versatile if your opponent spams lightening style.

(Futon: Reppuu Bakufuu no Jutsu) - Wind Release: Gale Blast Technique

Description: The user will swing their giant folding fan or giant war fan at their target to create a blast of wind sending the target flying, other users can use this technique by making a string of 2 hand seals and releasing their wind chakra to create a blast of wind.


Another fan technique, but for non fan users it requires 2 hand seals. The technique essentially achieves the same result as the one I just explained above. The only difference is that this one can reach up to mid range. If you are in close range, use the one above for a more sudden assault, while if you are in mid range you must pay the cost of performing 2 hand seals for extending the range. Both techniques are the same in their offensive capabilities and defensive strategies, but should be used for different situations.

Description: The user gushes a powerful stream of wind from their mouth towards their enemy.


This technique is useful because it requires no hand seals, but at the same time it is only C-rank. In exchange for power, you get the element of surprise with the use of this technique. It simply involves focusing wind chakra in your lungs then moving the wind chakra to your mouth and releasing it in a stream. To maintain the stream of wind, you will need to release the wind chakra evenly. If you do not release the wind chakra evenly, then the technique will simply become a blast. Since the technique is a stream it can cover a larger range as you can move your head to direct the stream toward different locations. The technique can be used to speed up projectiles or by using it to power up a fire blast from behind. The fire blast will be pushed forward faster and become a dual element combo. Defending against the technique is simply, because it is a stream, use a fire technique that is like a blast so that you can over power the stream and cause the opponent to stop the jutsu, and will force him to guard your fire.

First jutsu

I mold my Charka into my mouth as I inhale. I change my charka to wind style. I than proceed to mold two hand seals. I than exhale and as I exhale I combine my wind style charka with my breath. This creates a blast of wind heading towards my opponent who is at mid range

I could use use a shadow clone jutsu to use fire style jutsus against my target while I do this jutsu.
I could pressure my opponent while doing this jutsu by adding a genjutsu

I would use a simple d rank fire style Jutsu that covers wide range to over come this Jutsu
I could use hiding like a mole to go underground

This jutsu is dull because it was built more towards mid range fighters
Its rather useless since its a mere variation that requires two hand seals and can go farther.

Second jutsu

I mold my Charka into my lungs. I than proceed to change the element to wind style charka. I than inhale until my lungs can't hold anymore air and than I exhale. As I exhale I combine my charka with my breath at an even an steady pace. This creates a wind stream that heads after my opponent

I would water style to the jutsu to increase the destruction caused by the water.
I would add a fire style jutsu and than after that add a genjutsu to slow my opponent down

- how you can defend against the tech
I would use a blast type fire style jutsu to counter.
I could use hiding in the mist or hiding like a mole to blind or slip away from my opponent

- whether or not you find the technique useful or interesting
Its dull because it doesn't really capitalize on wind styles cutting power
It's versatile if you know how to use wind style

Description: This technique utilizes wind chakra into the users sword and then they release a vortex of wind that surrounds the users body and can push away materials covering the users body.


I personally really like this jutsu. The only problems I have with it that it requires a sword, and that it is only a B-rank technique. I would personally allow it to be an A-rank technique because of its usefulness. The jutsu works by releasing wind chakra out of your sword. You then cause the wind chakra release from your sword to envelop your body and begin spinning at high speeds. The wind forms a vortex around your body that can be used to push object away or create a vortex shield that can protect you from all sides. Because this technique only extends to short range, its uses are limited to either defending against attack or if used carefully to make your sword attacks stronger in close range. Because it requires no hand seals, it can be very useful in close combat. To defend against this technique (most of time it'll probably be used to defend against one of your techs, but a skilled wind user may use it to attack) just make sure to either avoid short range or to use a similar fire technique that requires no hand seals.
