Alright everyone, now it's no secret that I think Izou is super badass. I hate how he went out though (**** Akame), but since I have to wait another month before Lord Izou gets back up to feed Kousetsu, I began reading Akame Ga Kill Zero.
Now, looking past the massive amounts of fanservice (which I quite enjoy) something appeared to me, and I started making connections.
Izou is a former Tengu mercenary, and his daughter is Taeko.
"But Espadara!" You cry, ignorant of Lord Izou's brilliance. "That's impossible! Izou was just a jobber who gave nothing to the plot!"
Lubbock thinks otherwise.
Now, the Tengu mercenaries are a group of warriors that Chelsea's former team teamed up with in order to kill the Elite 4 7. They look like this:
See the nipple symbol? It looks very similar to the symbol on Izou's kimono, as shown here:
Not only that, but their back symbol is similar too:
Considering the Tengu mercenaries had been hired to kill the Elite Seven, and we only see a small group of them, we can conclude that they were strong enough to have quite the reputation. Even a powerful Assassin like Barbara knew who they were just by sight, and didn't seem to mad at having to work with them, also showing they must have some experience.
Now for proving Izou had intercourse and Taeko is his daughter.
Here is Taeko, along with her considerable killing intent, when she's not even trying.
Here is Izou, when he's boasting about Kousetsu's beauty (Sorry for it being chinese, no official english yet).
Here is a display of Izou's sword skills:
And here is Taeko's:
Barbara mentioned that Taeko is not related by blood to the Oreburgs. So, this means she was found and adopted. Now, Izou looks to be in his thirties, and would've been in his early twenties around the time Taeko was found by the Oreburgs when she was a child. But, if we go off of the earlier Tengu mercenary theory, than one idea stands out;
What if, in Kousetsu's thirst for blood Izou fought the Oreburgs? This would've definitely convinced Barbara of the Tengu mercenaries strength, and Izou may have chosen to leave his only daughter in the hands of such worthy opponents as he traveled to world with his beloved Kousetsu.
Just a theory I thought I'd share.
