Reason: Wouldnt make sense. Itachi gave a short description ("Izanagi decides your fate") and that wouldnt match the Rinnegan. Also it would be far too easy.

PS: Dont blame people who dont give reasons. It's just so incredibly unlikely... It's like saying "Tobi is Naruto! No? Why not? Give Reasons!"

It just helps explain why you think it's a no...For all we know, it could be true?

So, how the **** are you gonna unlock the rinnegan with a genjutsu? lol maybe he may achieve the rinnegan by using Izanami.. but that will happen because as we saw in the last manga chapter itachi was cut through by Kabuto.. so KA will end (i guess)
If izanami can alter destiny or rewrite it, he may go back in time or something similar to what Danzo did vs Sasuke and achieve the rinnegan because he has been and the death edge (he actually died)..

Izanami is said to form a pair with Izanagi. It's been stated Izanami is the ultimate eye JUTSU that hold the victim's destiny. Izanagi is a jutsu that changes destiny, and Izanami decides it. Now, how does achieving a Rinnegan give them the ability to decide destinies? It's not going to be a Rinnegan, it's going to be a jutsu.

The rinnegan could easily be activated by izanami. Just because it is a genjutsu, doesn't mean it can't activate it.
Remember..the rinnegan can has only showed up in the most powerful so far.
Nagato/Madara are the only ones who have unlocked it. For Itachi to get it/unlock it..could be amazing.

Izanami is a pair with Izanagi, a Rinnegan does not make a pair with a jutsu, notably a genjutsu. Sasuke also states that he "...didn't know there was another jutsu like Izanagi...!" There he says jutsu, and not a doujutsu.
