Izanami can work on madara but not for long like on kabuto sasuke may only use that tech to buy a few seconds to extract the senjutsu chakara from madara madara ran to get the senjustu chakara from hish knowing he would be at a disadvantage if he was without his eyes madara's rinnegan tech have been pushed because of senjutsu chakara if sasuke gets the senjutsu chakara he may be able to stall madara with one eye one eye sasuke with senjustu vs 1 eye madara with rinnegan

That's not necessarily what Izanami does... Itachi used it on Kabuto to realize who he is. It's safe to assume it's to get someone to realize something. Kabuto to accept to he is cause he always wants to be everyone else as well, to find out who he is.
