One of the main misunderstandings about Izanami is that, in order for it to work your opponent must be like Kabuto. Someone that doesn't accept themselves. This came about likely because of how complicated Izanami is, and the way the Manga explained Izanami, but that isn't true.

In the manga Itachi never stated that Izanami requires your opponent to be like Kabuto to work. But he did state the requirements for Izanami to work.

1: Your opponent must possess any of the 5 Senses.(Smell, Sight, Hearing ect.)

You must be registered for see images

2: You must select an Arbitrary moment, and use your Sharingan to "photograph" the visual and physical sensations of that moment to be replicated later on with Izanami(A). Once you have the "Photograph" to replicate(A), you can start the loop. All events that happened between you Creating (A) and starting Izanami is used as extra variables that occur in the middle of the loop(B) and (C).

You must be registered for see images

Put Simply: (A) > (B) > (C) >(A) Repeat. Looping until it is broken.

Accepting your destiny was never said to be a requirement for Izanami to start, however Itachi did state that it was the requirement to escape Izanami.

According to Itachi, Izanami was created to make people accept their fates, and to stop Izanagi. But that isn't a requirement for the Jutsu to work.

You're right. It's not a requirement for it to work, but the fact remains that using it on someone who is secure about who they are basically means that you are trading an eye and quite a decent amount of prep time for a couple seconds of genjutsu at most.

A' gets replicated with the sharingan not the body sensation.

The duration of the genjutsu depends on how long it takes for the target to accept defeat.

No, just long enough for them to accept themselves, which, if used on someone who already accepts themselves, is about 10 seconds.

Itachi himself stated it wasn't a practical jutsu for battle.

It would be most useful against Kabuto and Obito. Not worth the trouble against other opponents imo.

Accepting yourself was a condition specific to Kabuto. The Jutsu is created to make the target accept their "Destiny", which is different depending.

Uh... no. That's literally the entire point of the jutsu.

Izanagi is a jutsu designed for people unwilling to accept themselves and their weaknesses.
Izanami forces Izanagi users to accepts themselves and their limitations.

The fact that Itachi has stated Izanami is too risky to use in battle is proof enough against your claim.

Yeah I understand that, I was just saying the duration varies from target to target. Not to mention it costs an eye. And because of that, it is a risky technique. Since it is garunteed to be broken.

I'm not saying Izanami is a god level technique or anything, but that it does work on anyone.

The duration only varies if it's used on its intended target. Otherwise it only lasts the few seconds it takes for the target to learn what they already know, which breaks Izanami.

"If Izanagi is a jutsu that can change your destiny, then Izanami can decide it!"

I think that's the simplest way of explaining it...

Most people know what Izanagi does (if you don't like your situation, you can just start over). But Izanami drives you down a very specific route set by the caster -- and if you fight back, you start over.

To escape Izanami, you have to realise that stuff is looping, and stop trying to fight it. Psychology means nothing. Anyone can be caught in it, and once you're caught Itachi can just stab you, or put you in another genjutsu.

Yeah, if the opponent knows how to counter it and doesn't fight back, they can break it instantly. So that is where the risk comes to play. The duration varies, and it costs an eye.

Izanami also requires one to have intel on his opponent, or to know how the opponents thinks and view stuff, and izanami can work on almost anyone if the right requirements are set, e.g when BM naruto in the war arc said he was gonna save everyone, if izanami was to be used on him, naruto would be in an endless loop till he figures out he can't save errbody and accepts reality. But itachi can oneshot within a second after someone is caught, so getting caught on it's own even for a second is lethal

What if the technique actually control the fate of the vicitim by the user and the part of getting outside accepting the reality of the user is only a part if the user wants to. Put in one word user can trap the victim in an endless loop regardless of the circumstances of who he is.
