indra did everything alone, and accepted himself as a genius.
what he couldnt accept was his father being a douchebag and his brother being a naive fool in a time period where power meant everything.
moreover, itachis a hypocrite and a fool. he ALSO thinks that murdering families and killing people is the path to peace so itachi can be izanami'd too since he believes with power there can be lasting control over others.
indra's philosophy was the same as raikage's and tobirama's essentially. people without power die and lose everything. but with power, theres no shameful losses or contradictions, since no one can hurt the people you love without the promise of retribution and fear. peace becomes possible.
but he wasnt a violent sociopath about it. his introverted personality simply gave birth to anger at being spurned and the rightful order being ignored.

Indra is a perfect candidate for Izanami, he accepted himself but he didn't accept Ashura as Hagoromo's successor and that lead to the current scenario, now insert Itachi's Izanami here. It'll force Indra to accept Asura's leadership and there'll be true peace.
