Izanami Deciphered

[Disquiet]

Itachi has never been seen needing to gather a significant amount of time to prep Tsukiyomi. It happened easily with a closing and opening of eyes against Kakashi. He used it almost instantly against Bee (mid-fight).

Being bisected wouldn't change anything. Getting damaged as an Edo has never indicated a loss of chakra gathering. We also have no indication that Izanami is a huge chakra cost. And as an Edo Tensei, he can constantly use his maximum potential of chakra meaning even if it did take a lot, he could use it and Tsukiyomi immediately.



Still, if he can activate it at anytime, then why would he stand there in front of Kabuto and fight as opposed to simply falling back, and returning to activate it? There's no need for Itachi to play close with Kabuto which is EXTREMELY risky when he can sit in Susanoo and if Sound Genjutsu is used, just cooperate with Sasuke to keep safe.

I agree that both options are applicable; however, from what we saw, and based on everything said, I would say physical contact was needed for A'. That's what my point was about. In my opinion, until Kishi notes that Itachi can create it just by Ocular Dojutsu, I would say Physical contact exists as the more general answer of the two.

But as you noted... Pretty much at this point it stands as a difference of opinion.

Well not anytime, however much time is necessary. That's not really a good strategy at all. Itachi has no idea of Kabuto's abilities. While confident of his own, he still has Sasuke to protect; the latter displaying multiple times he'd act without waiting for permission from the former. With Sasuke there, it's infeasible that he's just 'sit there' and do nothing while the Kabuto is going after both of them. And you may argue that Kabuto has nothing to get through Susano'o, however he may or may not have shown his full arsenal (I doubt he did).

I see you understood the implications this has in battle strategy though.

Yeah I wholeheartedly disagree that physical contact a second time seems more plausible based on what was said. I believe that A' requires only the power of the eyes, because well, that's what the manga said.

I do agree that the whole incident surrounding Izanami may be a bit unclear; and that either explanations can easily be debunked when Kishi explains it.

there are two times when kabuto stabbed itachi and both of the times it happened in the real world, not in a genjutsu
hence why sasuke asks "when did you cast it" to which itachi replies "the first time he stabbed me"

izanami was cast in the first stab but it was not completed until the second stab, after the second stab izanami started and inside the genjutsu all the events that happened between the first stab and second stab started replaying in varying forms

kabuto wasnt caught in genjutsu after just the first stab else sasuke would never have to ask the question, secondly sasuke thinks to himself "all the way back then huh" which also quite clearly says that a lot of time has passed between the first stab and kabuto getting caught in a genjutsu

He never stabbed him twice clearly Itachi eye was white before he got so called stabbed a second time if that was the case so it lost its light jumped back to MS after losing its light then jumping back to losing its light ? Clearly that makes no sense why wasn't the cave filled with water when kabuto used that water style?

Also once Kabuto wants to bind and completely control the Edos they also lose their pupil.

So the scan of sasuke asking to hurry up or when are you going to use inzanami is not a valid arguement because sasuke didn't know when he started the technique in the first place.
