Genin Days
During his genin days Iwashi was placed on a team on which he was the "Between" Ninja, not being the strongest or the weakest, as a result he was neglected by his sensei when he was giving praise or a scolding.One day on a rendezvous mission to kumogakure his team was ambushed by a small team of ninja from otogakure who killed his sensei and was about to kill him and his teammates until the kumogakure ninja came and help but they also suffered casualties and had to escape.Over time he developt a friendship with the kumo nin who he would occasionally meet with and train to one day avenge their fallen comrades
