what if there was a lawless who can decipher it like vegapunk and sanji's oldman and the people who was forbidden to decipher it? Robin's mom was from vegapunk side, she was consider to be greatest, that even vegapunk was so impress to it, but robin's mom made the biggest mistake ever, she was sharing the information to her fellow archaelogist and to clover himself the secret about the world of onepiece by probably sending pictures of poneglyph, the world goverment found out about this. robin's mom got preety deep in the story behind the poneglyphs, she knows so much more than anyone other than vegapunk, it changed her she wanna share it, and the best way to do it is to tell it to clover and his trusted archaelogist. So years past, the world goverment somehow found out about this, they didnt knew all this time that ohara can decipher poneglyphs... Then boom! Destroyed.
