The anime said they left him near death but that had to be before that mission took place because he died in the forest.

Exactly, thats why i said it was possible that they couldve killed him in the forest. That couldve been why they were in that situation as well

Unlikely. The Gold and Silver brothers attacked Tobirama and the second Raikage. This means that after that first attack on Tobirama, which he survived, they would've been rogue ninja that weren't associated with anyone. If I remember correctly, the 20 man squad that took down Tobirama was officially part of one of the villages.

There were so many opportunities that Kishi couldve had to bring flashbacks such as Kakazu vs.First Hokage but he hasnt been doing it :shrug:

This means that after that first attack on Tobirama, which he survived, they would've been rogue ninja that weren't associated with anyone. If I remember correctly, the 20 man squad that took down Tobirama was officially part of one of the villages.

If it was confirmed they were present during the ambush, what do you think they would be doing? They were criminals that caused trouble with the Hokage the first time, why wouldnt they a second time when he was alone?

Well at least we know now that their stats must be high when it comes to taijustu + ninjustu & they have to either have a genjustu resistence or help each other snap out of it?

Not necessarily, it was a team effort sort of to say. You probably right about the Genjutsu Part, but, they also had in possession the Sage's weapons. The Sages weapons is what probably gave him a hard time, most likely.

I agree with you since the 2nd Hokage and the Raikage had a hard enough time with the Silver/Gold Brothers when they were together. I just expected more from a Senju that was nearly invincible because of his godly sword, genjustu abilities, and teleportation that he couldnt been taken down because Minato took down 1000 people with his teleportation, why couldnt the Second Hokage take down 20? Not only that but what about the fact that he had the justu to revive the dead? He couldve brought back Hashi in this case because he wasnt sealed permenantly?

You guys forget that when the gold and silver brothers attacked the 2nd hokage they also attacked the 2nd raikage at the peace treaty, do you really think that afterwards the village would really still let the gold and silver bros to remain part of them? The 4th raikage called them the most notorious criminals in the clouds history, so they were obviously banished after their little stunt so for them to be leading a team of elite shinobi to hunt down the 2nd hokage is highly unlikely.
