You're assuming that it's a retcon, despite the Manga establishing it. Which had to revamp the Movie and put it on paper to continue the story, since the Boruto Movie itself was an 'ending' sort to speak. They finished plot lines, added new one's, and invented surprises.

Regardless, the first episode proved why Boruto will be an interesting main character for the series. They incorporated his Hyuuga side, which most people felt would be irrelevant. They have interesting dynamics to build from, and honestly, he was pretty awesome too all things aside. He wasn't even brat.

The problem with what you're saying is that it doesn't make sense in the slightest. You're assuming that it's a retcon, despite the Manga establishing it. That's why you need to actual listen to what the character's say, and what the animators/writers do to a story before you go off assuming something. Boruto's Dojutsu triggered when that special chakra that attacked Denki, fluctuated. He didn't even realize that he had an eye power. In that contrast, Boruto who is much older, is seen activating his Dojutsu. You can put 2 and 2 together: There would be no logical sense for him to use something he doesn't know he has, and it only activated when that 'chakra' appeared, which wasn't seen in the Movie.

I honestly don't think so. This eye dojutsu is probably some kind of Byakugan/Tenseign variant, he might get a Tenseign chakra mode if he unlocks it in the second eye (Kishimoto drew a drawing with Team Konohamaru: Sarada had MS, Mitsuki had SM, Boruto had 2 Byakugan's /w his natural color mode). But I don't really see it going an farther than that.

Kishimoto said earlier that the power scale is not going to be on the same level as Naruto and Sasuke's (most likely at their Rikudou limit). They probably will have hacks: Like maybe a S/T, which is probably how Kawaki took down Naruto.

But rest assured that they aren't going into retarded planet busting territory, as long as Kishimoto keeps his word.e

Again, you need to calmly assess what's actually going on in the story. When I tell you something, you run off. Face it forward. They haven't done anything that completely destroys the story. The entirety of Naruto has been following the same motion.

Complaining about something that barely just started is fools work. We need to watch/read the story until it reaches the climax, to get a good representation of how 'good' the writing is. But I won't hate on something so irrelevant when it is barely fleshed out. C'mon dude :lol

Regardless, so far in the Manga, all the characters have had pretty good screen time. Even Mirai whom Kishimoto ignored in all of his work bar Chapter 700. I'm sure the writers are going to do a good job at least in terms of splitting the spotlight.

Anyway, funny enough, when Kawaki told Boruto that the era of shinobi is over. Boruto pretty much said 'Even so' -- Which implies that he agrees. Who knows what might happen.
