This entire thread mostly wasn't serious tbh I thought ppl would catch that when I put "Yea, I said it. Attack" at the end

But seriously, Neji was one of my favorite characters and I'm still bitter he's dead like I said multiple times so far

I also like Gai. My eyes started stinging a bit when I realized what was about to happen . All character deaths effect me, shock value or foreshadowed

His death is BS, thats why you should watch Anime instead cause hopefully there's going to be more filler padding gving Neji spotlight with showing all these movesets before he dies hopefully it serves more justice in the Anime than in the manga.

Also, there's is still slight chance of hope that we're going to see Neji Spirit in the shape of Phoenix in some way shape of form in the VIZ Scan when Hinata Quoted: Neji... Please Protect Naruto!!

I hope it did mean something....but maybe all of Team Gai is gonna die. Tenten might die tryna use them tools or something U_U

Well because guy was kept back to long guy coulve easly soloed edo madara in 7th ate while he had stamina it was for plot for him to revel his god level power aginst someone worthy if guy wouldve done that attack eirler on madar he wouldve ended the war same as when pain attacked there was no way deva nore the others couldve faought guy and lee while ten ten and neji spam air plalms and tools its too obvious man

It most likely feels like that because:

1. Neji's death was not expected while Gai's has been on our mind for a few weeks now.

2. Gai never had flashbacks to begin with.... like ever. So it was key to show a little history of his training and the 8 gates.

3. Neji was killed in the mist of the battle where the characters had no time to morn or cope with the situation. In Gai's case, its a fight against one man rather than one man, a giant Juubi and hundreds of Juubi clones all at once. For that reason, he and the other characters have the necessary time to cope.

Saying Kishi is a bad writer for this reason is pretty harsh. You are focusing on the negative and don't appreciate the differences in the 2 unique situations.

I agree with Floydical that the circumstances at the time forbid Neji's death from garnering the attention that it should have. Things were heating up and everyone had to focus on staying alive. Neji's sacrifice to save Naruto is no less important than Guy's sacrifice now. At the time the focus was to keep Naruto and Bee alive and not allow them to fall into Obito's and Madara's hands. Neji's sacrifice was very important.

I was disappointed when he died though because Naruto had mentioned that the head family stuff was unfair and he would like to change it. I would have liked to see Neji and Hinata trying to change the clan after the war along with more information on the Hyuga and the origin of their powers.

This is bias against characters and shows Kishi is a horrible writer. Yea, I said it. Attack

During the Chuunin Exam arc and the First Sasuke Retrievel arc, we got a great deal of background information on Neji. More than all of his other peers, except Naruto and Sasuke. We know everything we need to know about him.

Maybe Kishi is biased against Neji. He is the author and can do whatever he wants. Not having the story go your way does not mean he is a horrible writer.

Neji's character was developed along with others.
But how could you compare his death with Gai?
Gai after 650 chapters, got some flashbacks about his past apart from being Kakashi's eternal rival. He deserved it.
