Ok, Raiton is utilized through the user making their chakra vibrate at a high frequency. It is often used to pierce the opponent but can also be used as a cause of paralysis. Most often used as an attacking element.
Lightning release is strong against earth as it can just move through the earth and break it up while it is weak to wind as it is intangible and a natural insulator.
Kumogakure shinobi commonly have the lightning affinity. Eg A, Bee and Lightning release is used in A's Nintaijutsu to increase the speed of the electrical signals through his synapses giving him more physical speed.
Lightening release can be used in a combo with water jutsus to make it more deadly.

Hmm....ok firstly, lightening is strong against earth and weak against wind.
So,
A rank earth= B rank lightening

Ok, that's correct, but to go into more detail.

A-rank Lightning = S-rank Earth.
A-rank Lightning > A-rank Earth and it'd continue towards the opponent at a weakened rank of B.

So for an Earth jutsu to cancel out a Lightning jutsu, it must be one rank higher.

As for weakness:

A-rank Wind = S-rank Lightning.
A-rank Wind > A-rank Lightning.

Lightning is not strong nor weak against Water and Fire, and so, using lightning wouldn't be a valid way of defending against a Fire or water jutsu, since it'd go straight through it. (and the water would get electrocuted, doing you more damage)

Of course, this doesn't mean Lightning can't be used in a combination with both Fire and Water.
Can you tell me why it'd be useful to use Lightning along side Fire?

Yes when we use fire jutsu, the opponent's vision of us is hindered. taking it to our advantage, we could use a lightening jutsu which would pass through the fire without the opponent knowing. If the opponent uses water to douse the fire, it would backfire on him because of the lightening.

Alright now we'll start.

*Makes a small Lightning bolt*

Now, meditate around the lightning and feel it's energy and brute strength, concentrate on it and try to call out your own lightning chakra and create your own small bolt.

I go sit down on the ground close my eye and start meditating. I clear off mind of each and every thought and concentrate on the lightening bolt. As I concentrate, I start feeling its power, its vibrations, its awesomeness. I feel its effects all over my body. I feel the cells in my body reacting to it. As I feel it, I start gathering all my lightening chakra into my body which I focus it to my palms. Then, suddenly I make a lightening bolt by moulding my raw lightening chakra to shape it as one of yours.

Well done, now, I want you to manipulate your lightning chakra further and channel it into your palms, once you've done that, slam your hand down onto the ground and release the chakra, once you've released it into the ground, manipulate it so that it travels into the area beneath my feet and shocks my clone mildly

Straight after doing that, don't hesitate and and use that same chakra to cover your body. With this you'll have your body covered with an electric field, and with that electric field covering your body, run at my clone and punch/kick him however you like. (Describe this as if it was a freeform fight)

As you create a clone, I quickly gather a lot of chakra in my body. Once done, I concentrate it into my palms. The moment I feel its enough, I slam my hand into the ground and release my chakra. As I do, I manipulate it to move in a line towards your clone. As the lightening chakra reaches below your clone, it electrocutes him mildly.


As your clone is still in a shock, I focus my gathered raiton chakra all over my body. It looks as if i'm covered by an electric field. And then I rush towards you throwing kunais at your legs, somewhere above your shoulders and above your head. As you get distracted with those kunais, I punch you straight in your chest which makes you go poof because of its powerful effect.

As you create a clone, I quickly gather a lot of chakra in my body. Once done, I concentrate it into my palms. The moment I feel its enough, I slam my hand into the ground and release my chakra. As I do, I manipulate it to move in a line towards your clone. As the lightening chakra reaches below your clone, it electrocutes him mildly.

Now, concentrate your lightning chakra once again, but gather it all at one point (fist, foot, your choice), making a compressed ball of lightning. Once you've done that, I want you to once again run at my clone and deal a blow to his body whilst releasing that compressed lightning orb making it so that it explodes outwards and damages my clone.

After doing that, I want you to quickly send another quick bolt of lightning at my clone who would be blown back due to the explosion caused by the first jutsu.

Again, I start concentrating my lightening chakra. Then, I gather it at my palms. I compress it as much as possible. As I compress it, I create a ball of lightening. Once done, I charge towards your clone and release the lightening orb at you're clone's chest making the orb explode outwards and thus damaging your clone.

Once done, I again gather a lot of chakra inside my body. Once I finish that, I quickly send another bolt of lightening at your clone which makes your clone blow back sure to the explosion caused by the jutsu.

Again, I start concentrating my lightening chakra. Then, I gather it at my palms. I compress it as much as possible. As I compress it, I create a ball of lightening. Once done, I charge towards your clone and release the lightening orb at you're clone's chest making the orb explode outwards and thus damaging your clone.

Once done, I again gather a lot of chakra inside my body. Once I finish that, I quickly send another bolt of lightening at your clone which makes your clone blow back sure to the explosion caused by the jutsu.

Now for the next jutsu, just do what I asked you earlier (the shooting out bolts of lightning from your hand) but I want you to gather a larger amount of chakra and release it as bolts of lightning, so that the jutsu does more damage. You can use this jutsu to simply to shock an opponent or to send a powerful stream of lightning which is capable of ripping through solid rock.

We'll do this as if we're in a battle, so I want you first send a powerful surge of lightning which rips through my first attack, then once you've done that, I want you to create an orb of Lightning on your hand (like earlier) but instead of smashing it into me, I want you to throw it, so that it can reach a further distance.

Let's give this a go.

-Makes a clone-

*My clone quickly slam his hand down on to the ground and makes the surrounding rocks rise up and be sent flying towards you as a B-ranked Earth jutsu.. My clone then begins to run in an arc.* (Throw the orb of lightning once you see him running)

Again, I start gathering my lightening chakra. But this time I gather more. Once i'm done, I again send out bolts of lightening chakra from my hand which on coming i'm contact with your clone, makes your clone to blast away. And your clone gets ripped off from the place the attack hit him thus making him go poof.


As your clone touches the ground, I see rocks coming flying over to me. So I quickly send a powerful surge of lightening towards the rocks that obliterates them into pieces. Suddenly I see your clone coming running towards me. Quickly I create a lightening orb in my hand just like before. But this time I hurl this attack over to him instead of engaging him hand-hand.

Again, I start gathering my lightening chakra. But this time I gather more. Once i'm done, I again send out bolts of lightening chakra from my hand which on coming i'm contact with your clone, makes your clone to blast away. Now, this is (once again) similar to another jutsu we've already done, so I want you to surround your body with an electric field which acts as a defensive measure, protecting you from B-ranked and below Earth jutsus (depends on which jutsus, since some are not full on attacks), so I'll use spikes against you and see if you can protect yourself by covering every inch of your body in an armour of electricity.

Then I see you laying down spikes all over the place. I then walk over the spikes destroying them in the process.

Description: The user surrounds themselves with electricity. The intense electric field protects them by electrocuting anyone who comes into contact with it, but only works for one attack.

Next jutsu, we'll begin to run up this cliff.

-Points-

Now, we'll be running up the cliff side by side, whilst we're running up, I'll need you to perform the Snake > Upside down Tiger and clap your hands together, when you do this, release a wave of electrical energy which should hit the stones above and make them become dislodged, which in return would cause them to rain down over you and down onto whoever is below you.

After that, we'll reach the top of the cliff, once we're at the top. I want you to channel your chakra and focus it on your hand, you then hold your hand out in front of you, like a sword and due to the lightning it should start to glow a pale yellow, you can then release the lightning from your hand as bolts of lightning in the shape of a horn which is spread out, allowing you to attack multiple targets.

Give those two a go. ^^

N then at the exact last moment, I jump up to avoid those stones which go past me.


Then, as we reach on top, I start gathering my chakra and release it to my hand. Then I hold my hand out in front of me, like a sword and due to the
lightning chakra, it starts to glow a pale yellow. I then release the lightning from my hand as bolts of lightning in the shape of a horn which is spreads out and attacks multiple targets.

Descripton: By forming hand seals Snake → Upside down Tiger → Hands clapped together and running up a cliff face, the user causes stone and rock above him to become dislodged and rain down past him onto his opponents below by releasing a wave of electrical energy. However, this is extremely location-based and needs to be done uphill of a mountain for it to work.

(Raiton: Shuurai Rappa no Jutsu) - Lightning Release: Lightning Strike Horn Technique

Description: The user will raise their hand infront of them like a sword and it will begin glowing a pale yellow before releasing bolts of lightning in the shapt of a horn that spread outwards allowing it to attack multiple targets.

Now, gather a substantial amount of your lightning chakra and release it into the skies above, I then want you to use that chakra call down lightning strikes at your desired places. The sending chakra into the sky takes some time and is visible by the opponent, so they could use that time to attack you, so be careful with the usage of this jutsu in battle.

After you do that, I will need you to practice Ram > Boar > Dog > Bird and Hare hand seals, allowing you to summon 4 pillars from the ground. The pillars would rise up from the ground, surrounding your enemy and shooting bolts of lightning which bind him as he's stuck inside the 4 pillars.
