It will be both. Afterall, to use these techniques, he needs to use the gates. If i'm not mystaken, he used morning peacock while he was in the sixth gate, afternoon tiger while in the seventh gate. The logical conclusion would be that he uses a technique related to nightime while in the 8th gate.

Oh well, I guess we will have to wait and see.
