Its the techniques not the MS its self that makes the user go blind or Kakashi would of gone blind years ago

Kakashi has used Kamui like 3-5 times in the whole of naruto i think and sasuke used at least triple the amount of different MS techniques when he went blind.

I reckon he can go blind he wont xd .....but yeah he can do if he keeps spamming Kamui

Kishi always puts more emphasis on the Uchihas, he will probably forget to make Kakashi blind. On top of that, Kakashi doesn't spam his ms, he only used it 5 times so far in the manga. So even if he gets blind, it won't happen during the shippuden series.

Maybe it'll happen, maybe it won't. Imo, it's unlikely that Kakashi will go blind (or at least not for a few more years manga-wise).

Why? Well, Kakashi is limited by how many times he can use the Mangekyou, whereas an Uchiha can typically use their Mangekyou as much as they like without collapsing, etc.

Since Kakashi is barely able to use his as often, he most likely won't go blind for a while. Itachi and Sasuke, on the other hand, were able to constantly use their Mangekyou Sharingans upon activating it. This would have clearly sped up the process of becoming blind.

Even an Uchiha who uses their Mangekyou sparingly would be able to avoid blindness for a prolonged period of time.

You are forgetting the 3 year time skip in which he unlocked and used it...
To even know he had it he had to have used it before...

When he talked to itachi he already hinted his eye was going bad.. So in that 3 years it messed him up a bit...

If you read the Op you'd realise that the reason i created the thread was because there was a misconception that because his sharingan is transplanted he has the ems or because he isnt an uchiha this doesnt affect him. It might be obvious for the people who know this but there are several who didnt

I actually think the series would end before he completely goes blind because its near the end anyway. I do however agree that because he isnt an uchiha the blindness process should be faster because of the laws kishi has created which goes like this;

When an uchiha uses the sharingan it consumes almost nothing. When a non uchiha uses the sharingan it consumes quiet a bit of their chakra.

The second rule is that when an uchiha uses the ms technique/s it consumes quiet a lot of their chakra. When a non uchiha uses the ms technique it consumes even more of their chakra.

Basically every negative that affects an uchiha when they use their kg, its even worse for a non uchiha. Therefore although kakashi uses kamui as a last resort, once the ms is activated the blindness process starts whether an uchiha or not. For a non uchiha it might be even faster

Yes his Sharingan will go blind eventually, but not before 5-10 years, Itachi awakened the MS at the age of 13, and his eyes lost its light when he was 21, I'm guessing that's because he doesn't spam his MS techniques like Sasuke, and Kakashi doesn't spam Kamui either, so his MS would last long IMO.

I was under the assumption that the blindness was from the usage of the technique, not the activation of MS. Yes, i know the activation almost always or always happens only seconds before the use of the technique, but if kakashi was say, just showing off the shape of his new eye to his friends in Konoha, i don't think he would suffer blindness.

If Tsunade can theoretically heal Orochimaru's dead/sealed arms than she can heal blindness also, js...

I don't think he used it much before shippuden as he took forever to activate it and he still sucked with it against deidara, as if he only used it once or twice before then. Also, as a person who wears contacts, i can tell you it's a b***h wearing only one contact in one eye. It's SO annoying. Haha.

Um, I do believe this is the case. I don't see why Kakashi would be exempt from the consequences of overusing the Mangekyou Sharingan.

Itachi was Genuinely Suprised when kakashi asked about His eye Sight.

Only way Kakashi could of Known This, Is by experiencing it himself, Since Itachi was the Only Living Uchiha with Ms and he didn't tell kakashi of the side effects.
