Hold on, I'm not sure that was not the be all and end all reason, that would be stupid. It was probably more the catalyst, no one vows to control the world because on person died, there has to more to it than that.

i agree with u,there has to be more than that,obito must be hiding the main reason but if Rin is the only reason this butthurt started the 4th great ninja war then i'll loose all my respects for kishi.

Kakashi asked Obito if he survived. (NOTE: here, Obito answers "Whether *I* survived or not is not important"..that "*I*" maybe a hint, can't figure out what it means, but...)
Then Kakashi says: "If you were alive, how come until now...?". Meaning, Kakashi asks Obito why didn't he..come by and say "hi" or something like that. He's asking him why didn't he let Kakashi know he was alive.
Then Obito says this: "It's because...you let Rin die".
I may be wrong, but Obito's reason for declaring war is definitely not Rin's death. He knows Madara, he has (I think) Senju DNA (that butter-like thing he's made of is from white Zetsu, who was created by Madara before his death, again, I THINK)
But if Tobi/Obito did all these things just because Kakashi couldn't save Rin, Kishi will lose me as a reader and maybe other readers too, because it doesn't make any logical sense.

Well, yes, that makes sense. I suck . Therefore, Obito is a friendzoned guy on rage-mode against the whole world because his crush died and his best friend didn't protect her? What a joke. I was expecting something more dramatic, like Obito and Kakashi both awakening Mangekyo because Rin, who was both his crush and his best female friend, was killed by Tobi/Obito. Then Obito blames Kakashi because he wasn't there when he killed Rin, because if he'd have been there, Obito could have killed him instead of Rin and live happily ever after, blah. STILL, I expected that he was mad only at Kakashi for what I said above.
But, in the situation given, I am also with you and think Madara is the master-mind behind all this and has manipulated Obito into thinking that the whole world is to blame because of Rin's death. But this would be bullsh*t too...

Okay, so this might be totally irrelevant, but as we may have already expected it is very much likely Kakashi will die soon in my eyes, as we should be able to remember his father spoke to him and said that he still has 'something' to do before they be reunited. I believe Kakashi's Real Mission will be soon as Tobi/Obito and Rin are going to be a big topic in the upcoming weeks. In the past we have seen Kakashi as a quiet, mysterious character, we know now its due to his friends dying, he feels like he failed them. This has haunted him all his life, hence why he uses the same, 'those who abandon their teammates are scum' phrase himself. Due to this, I believe if there is a chance to protect his friend/teammate, i.e. Obito, he will.

To conclude, i think from what of seen of Kakashi's character that he will die protecting Obito in some way (maybe from Madara) and then Obito may come to his senses. Just a theory, but yh XD

kishi has done more than troll his readers. He's completely sauced up the manga since the danzo fight (Please don't ask me why I think this). "It's because you let Rin die"... Something tells me he's going to give some lame excuse as to why "Obito" is like that. Did Madara actually die during the war or was he mentoring and training Obito? Did Hashiramas dna help to prolong his life? <<Questions like that will be asked and answered. What if the moon-eye plot was all Madaras idea ever since he "lost" the war? He probably brainwashed Obito into fulfilling the plan (because he would die of age before he got the chance to do it himself) like how we saw Obito brain wash Sasuke into trying to annihilate the villiage. Masashi dug himself a hole here guys...
