For as long as I have been coming to narutobase(been coming before account made) the most made threads are easily about Itachi. People are constantly comparing him to other characters like Minato, Naruto KB, Hashirama, and even SO6P. With this thread I hope to make clear of Itachi's capabilities and his weaknesses.
I will start with weaknesses first:
Jinchuriki's- His favorite type of jutsu is genjutsu which even the tsukuyomi would not work against them. So he would have to resort to ninjutsu and taijutsu. Amaterasu and Susanoo can compensate for the problem.
Uchiha with sharingan- They would pose a problem since the sharingan helps see through genjutsu and tsukuyomi can be broken by people who are of Uchiha blood and have the sharingan as stated by Itachi.
Rinnegan users- While rinnegan is the next stage of sharingan Itachi does not poses one so it is a weakness for him. Ninjutsu does not work, taijutsu can work but it is not very effective and genjutsu also does not work. Jutsu's like amatersasu would not work since it is a ninjutsu. Tsukuyomi might work on non-uchiha blood rinnegan users but at this time it is unknown. Tsukuyomi cannot work on Uchiha blood rinnegan users since the rinnegan is the final stage of the sharingan so it won't work.
Space-Time jutsu- Ninjas with space-time would be able to dodge Itachi's jutsu's . With Kamui or FTG.
Speed: Itachi is obviously fast but just how fast is he? Edo Itachi's feats in speed were this
As you can see he appears to be having no trouble keeping with Naruto KB and both him and Naruto are both not capable of hitting each other. Then when Bee attacks with Naruto, Itachi was able to dodge and get some distance quickly. So this shows Itachi is one of the fastest ninjas without the use of teleportation. *Note* That Sasuke could dodge A's attacks even though he can not keep up with him. So the sharingan is obviously helping.
Itachi's handseal speed is fast enough to where a sharingan user cannot keep up.
Tech: Itachi is a master at ninjustu, genjutsu and taijutsu. With his sharingan he gains Susanoo, Tsukuyomi, Izanami, and Amaterasu.
He has shown to be able to reflect genjutsu back on the user. If you take the data book as fact then even a 5 point genjutsu user, Kurenai, Itachi can turn the jutsu on his opponent easily.
Tools:
Sword of Totsuka -
The sword can seal anyone on contact. With Itachi's speed few people would be able to keep from getting hit by the sword. It is impossible to escape by yourself but as long as you have chakra not sealed in the sword then someone can get you out.
Yata Mirror -
This spirit item can deflect all ninjutsu. So if Itachi can get the shield in front of a ninjutsu it has no affect. A tailed beast ball can also be deflected with this as long as the mirror makes contact with it.
Itachi also has the standard kunai and shurikens.
Solo Feats: He has 1 shot Kakashi, Orochimaru, and Deidara.
Many of these things people ignore or just forget about Itachi.
