Itachi's plan

So what would Itachi have done if Sasuke didn't kill him before Pain attacked Konoha and he actually did capture Naruto and take the Kyuubi from him? Would Itachi betray the Akatsuki and attempt to kill Obito? Cause he wanted to only protect the village and his little brother? What are your thoughts?

Well ya I know but obviously for him at the time he didn't know what would happen so he obviously had some sort of plan so I was curious on y'all's thoughts on what it would be

Sasuke did not kill him he died of AIDS or that unknown disease. Akatsuki would do more than what Sasuke had done to him, he would probably die after sealing one or two.

Pain wouldn't have attacked Konoha though. Itachi and Obito had a deal so that Obito wouldn't attack Konoha in exchange for helping him withe uchiha massacre. When Itachi died, Obito broke his part of the deal and Pain attacked Konoha.

But if you think about it, Obito broke the initial deal by having Nagato attack the leaf but something tells me that decsion was spontaneous.

Itachi didn't seem to have a problem with a lot of stuff the Akatsuki did so I really don't know. Getting killed by Sasuke was essential for him.

First off! No1 kills Godtachi!. An as for his plan, he is Konohagakure's Uchiha Godtachi... so i think he would have chose the village over akatsuki an probably had a few on his side.

Itachi was not a great hero. He was a brutal, mindraping, genocidal terrorist supervillain and a deleterious madman. itachi was at best a brutal dogmatic danzo-loyalist extremist, who saw nothing wrong with his numerous atrocities done in the name of a corrupt government, still preaching his loyalty to konoha after he claimed to have become sorry for his misdeeds. he idea that you can be looked at as a hero, just because you have some murky sense of loyalty to your government is horrifying. he
- committed genocide when there were clearly ways they could stop the rebellion with less murderous methods.

- lied about, and covered up said genocide, just to protect the corrupt old men who perpetrated it.

- failed to inform tsunade of the situation once she rose to power, which is high treason as he should still answer to her. no one else.

- brutally tortured sasuke for 3 days by making him experience his entire family being killed over. and over. and over. and over.

- did nothing at all to stop villains worse than his clan was, and let them run rampant across the country.

- manipulated, twisted and lied to sasuke in order to create his own personal puppet weapon against akatsuki, that was powered by hatred and lust for power. this condemned sasuke to a life of pain and misery.

- aided in the capture and murder of 6 innocent jinchurikis, and aided in ripping out the bijuus. akatsuki posession of such weapons caused the 4th shinobi world war.

- manipulated sasuke into trying to murder an random innocent person, whos sole crime was being sasuke's friend.

- ordered kisame to execute kakashi kurenai and asuma in cold blood.

- brutally tortured kakashi slowly for 3 days, via stabbing, in order to cause kakashi as much pain as possible

- tried to let kisame mutilate narutos leg.

- planned to brainwash sasuke to be danzo's slave for eternity, using KA.

- tortured naruto for no reason, and drove him to tears via mental humiliation and torment.

- betrayed konoha information to akatsuki.

- betrayed konohas higher ups and committed treason, via threatening to sell intel to enemy nations.

Those are not the actions of someone who wanted to protect the village. :bdpf:

He threatened to give the info away in order to protect his little brother... Because if he didn't, nothing was stopping Konoha from just assassinating Sasuke as a little kid.
He never planned on making Sasuke Danzo's slave, he only planned on bringing Sasuke back to the light using KA...
He never betrayed Konoha except for the times when he was looking out for Sasuke
What other way is there to prevent the incoming coup when:
1. The Uchiha weren't going to listen to any attempts at negotiation
2. Hiruzen was too much of a pushover to do sh!t

He was always trying to keep his secret a secret while trying to give Konoha as much information as possible without blowing his cover... Hence why he subliminally gave them information, while under the guise of an Akatsuki member
