OROCHIMARU+SOUNDFOUR was Kabuto's power but I agree that Itachi let himself get slashed by kabuto's sword on purpose. If he wasn't edo, he would have defended those attacks easily(by being more cautious)

However, it is also true that Kabuto could have won the battle by summoning edo Madara or some other edos.
He lost only cause of his big ego and cockiness

I've been saying this forever that it was Itachi's plan, but when your Edo body kinda *dies* your muscles stop moving somewhat in that instant and your edo body resembles a statue. Like what happened with Hashi/Tobi vs Sarutobi.

Itachi wanted Kabuto to increasingly get overconfident and frantic. Kabuto is usually a calm customer.
