Most definitely. I cannot believe that they asked him of all people to do that. And then Hiruzen never bothered to punish Danzo for ordering that. Hiruzen and Fugaku should have come to a compromise, but sadly they never did. As a result, Itachi has the worst life out of all the Naruto characters.

We already did...
Danzo ambushed Shisui when he was attempting the KA. The manga showed us that Shisui gave his eye to Itachi and asked him to maintain the clan's honor as well as save Konoha. Then Shisui just left to go and die alone.

Itachi was 13(he was an Anbu Captain, basically leader of an Anbu team with three subordinates) during the massacre and Sasuke was 7 it happened between the months of June and July

As for his girlfriend...he was from a noble family and clan heir so it was most likely an arranged marriage to a cousin(hence why she was killed in the Uchiha massacre) Who knows she might have had a bad attitude and he was secretly happy to murk her. So i wouldn't start feeling sad for him just yet...

As Snape Uchiha said, it was most probably an arranged marriage as the manga heavily implies that Itachi was to be the successor. Even in olden times, as soon as kids hit puberty, they were married off. It isn't out of the world for Itachi to be married at 13.
