Question about Itachi's death. Some non-biased smart Itachi fans, if you will:

What is it that kills Itachi here? The disease or the chakra expenditure.

It doesn't make much sense as to how Itachi could specifically plan the moment he would fall to his illness, whereas chakra usage is a thing he would be able to know and time.

Are the two linked? The coughing up blood & exhausted state of Itachi from within his Susanoo seems to indicate it's a mix of both surely? I'm so confused haha PLEASE USE PROOF ​

Chakra reserves are linked to health the worse ones health the less chakra their body can produce. Due to itachi's illness his already average reserves were further reduced

Kishi couldn't find a way to kill Itachi.He was too smart and too strong especially after his invincible susanoo reveal.

Both.

He was purposely reckless but of course, that aggravated his condition. Especially using Complete Suzano'o after a huge string of Amaterasu, generic genjutsu, Tsukuyomi, Katon and a Kage Bunshin. The injuries from the rigged Shuriken and the Goryūka would've further strained his body.

His heart gave out and his chakra hit zero.

Chakra is made from one's stamina, which is linked to their vitality. If vitality is affected by disease the amount of chakra produced goes down.

Itachi exerted himself that he died. He died of a combination of the disease and the illness. If he did not have the illness he would have been able to fight for longer. He could still kill sasuke if he wants too.
Everything I said in this is 100% correct and there is no other way to think about it because that's all THEORY

have you ever been sick and done workouts? the accelerating blood circulation makes the illness feel way worse. theres a reason why you have to REST when youre sick. sleeping and lying in bed in order to get back strenght and let your body handle the ilness. itachis life pretty much was one huge struggle. i would say his sickness was about to end him anyways, as he already knew. he did take a lot of medicines after all, as mentioned by tobi.

so that fight killed him. he might have died anyways just a bit later. but that fight did worsen his illness and accelerate the deteriorating of his organs.... how can some1 not see that?

that being said, it doesnt mean that sasuke legimitly stood any chance. itachi was basically playing with him and letting him win, like how older brothers always do lol

I'm just not an itachi fan and didn't pay enough attention. Thanks for the clear-up, need it for my VS matchup case study i'm writing. Trying to go as in-depth as possible

Itachi's illness had many symptoms of a heart attack, making that the most likely cause. Regardless, I think everybody else has summarised it very nicely.

Chest pain, myocardial infarction and other signs of cardiac failure are not uncommon effects of this disease, especially considering how it presented"

His illness is what effected his physical energy to use more chakra, so he still had chakra left before he died but he was basically like 7th gates guy after he expended so much energy using move after move.
