Itachi's boring.

He ended up with defeat Kabuto with (imo asspull) Izanami. He wants to stop edo tensei which would stop Madara who's only been messing around with the Kages, ruin Tobi's paths and get rid of Muu and other remaining edos. That only leaves Tobi as the only enemy left in the series he's powerful but it would be less interesting with just him. It would feel like the story is ending prematurely.

I think it would be better story wise for Kabuto to take control of Itachi and let Sasuke go on a rampage which would force Sasuke vs Naruto. Madara wouldn't be dicking around anymore so we can see what he's really like and at least kill off Oonoki and Tsunade. Let Tobi continue being op with his paths and make the alliance side work for their victory instead of a 3rd party(Itachi who shouldn't even be involved since he's a dead man) saving their ass.

Btw this is since he came back as an edo, before he was a lot better.

Anyhow - Itachi is not boring by any stretch of the imagination. He is one of the most complex characters in the manga as well as being one of the most philosophical in his speech.

EDIT -> Also, Tobi's paths have already been "ruined" by Naruto anyway.

I think the paths are gone and there are theories that Madara and maybe Itachi wont vanish if edo is released, this would just clear up all the remaining edos that aren't really in the story anymore. But I agree this fight hasn't been the most interesting.

Honestly, it may take Kabuto a while to choose the "correct" path. This would provide enough time for other fights to end by themselves.

Should have specified the bolded part in your first post.

That being said - Itachi's goal is to end the edo tensei and nothing else (well okay, he's going to talk to Sasuke a last time). So it stands to reason that it would be "boring" since it's a very linear goal -> although I have enjoyed it immensly!

Just wait for the next chapter. Last week everybody thought Itachi would be done for, which turned out to be absoulutely wrong. Kabuto will not die at this point; there's still Muu, who's making his way somewhere.

although i agree with u, what i will say is lets wait for next week's manga. but i have to say itachi is becoming too overpowered in my opinion. how further does kishi wants to take him. we all know itachi is among the strongest and smartest characters in the manga but giving him techs outta nowhere is becoming quite unlike itachi. ever since he came as an edo, he's gotten 3 or 4 new techs handed to him. i could perhaps agree with koto amastukami or whatever it is, since it was handed to him by someone else, but really? izanami? i thought having the ms granted the user one genjutsu, and one ninjutsu, so how come all these a$$pulls of jutsus? now am not hating on itachi. infact he is one of my 5 favorite characters but kishi is ruining him for me. as you stated he's becoming more like aizen, always knowing and planning and never being taken aback by any situation. this is just my opinion though and i hope the itachi fanboys are not offended by this since i am one myself

Kishi i think has ruined his manga, theres no point in setting up a new villain if ur gonna kill him off quickly. I always though kabuto was a waste of time villain for the real fights but still the edo tensei was enteraining with the kage battles.

chill im nobodys fanboy, somebody would have to be dumb to not see the importance in madaras history. i would love to see that. but an edo fighting ?? doesnt really matter to me
