It would make sense because there is little point in learning an assassination technique such as the hidden mist jutsu and not being able to use it to its fullest potential through the art of silent killing. Again this is mostly speculation, but it is valid since she does have this jutsu in her arsenal, so it isn't exactly out of the question either.

Nothing but assumption's. Just because she knows the kirigakure doesn't mean she was in anbu and what not. Its a trade mark technique of the village something you'd expect the mizukage to know. Also note that its the 7 swords men who were said to be masters of this art. Think its fair to say Mei doesn't qualify. For someone who relies very heavily on the use of his eyes to defeat his opponents, I find it very hard for someone to be able to effectively counter this jutsu in order to 'read' his opponent. Itachi may have been part of an assasination squad for a little while and it could help him to find his way, but he first has to be able to enter it due to the acidity.

The mist would be colored with her chakra anyways. It would just change it to a new color instead. You are right in that the rain could affect the ph of the mist, but its not like it is alway raining in amegakure. Remember that one of the reasons why it rained so much is because Nagato was using it as a sensory tool to sense for any infiltrators. Without someone like Nagato to keep it constantly raining, it is possible that there are times when it is much drier. This is something that we might have to confirm with the OP to be sure.

It seems you believe that mei would hide in the acidic mist and this will protect her, but surely she wouldnt be able to see in this mist, nor should she be able to see an opponents technique until last minute. The rain alone could not only sudbue to acid but also clear the mist. Second Goukaku will surely disperse the mist [

I can also understand your want of discussing only canon techniques so that it can be analyzed properly to make a decent rebuttal. I was merely pointing out that as a KKG user that she has several elemental affinities that she can use to her advantage, which is much greater than what itachi has shown.

Agreed but techniques demonstrated are viable and only that. Thats like me saying itachi has been partnered with arguably the best suiton user in the series and for somebody who has the sharingan but also an affinity to suiton he kisame couldve taught him or he couldve copied some of kisame's less chakra consuming techniques like the muzi bunshin

As I mentioned earlier, we may have to confirm this with the OP about the rain because it will definitely play an important factor as to whether it will hinder Mei or not. The rain/puddles will give a greater advantage to Mei, being a natural water user and demonstrating superior level water techniques. Using existing water will help her to conserve chakra even more so than itachi.

Itachi has to see the handseals in order to read and copy the technique, which is nullified with the hidden jutsu. The only technique he will be able to see initially is the first one she makes for the hidden mist jutsu. Not only that, but actually replicating her jutsu would be pointless because the scale of the jutsu is so large and Itachi will only be able to recreate an inferior version due to his lower-than average chakra reserves and because he doesnt have a natural affinity to water like Mei.

Erm, itachi's main affinity is suiton just like how sasuke's main affinity is raiton. Katon is something that uchiha's are born with however they themselves have their own individual affinity outside their uchiha heritage. Do agree that mei has shown more diversity with suiton jutsu's, but the surrounding water could work in itachi's favour. Also one's the mist clear's like ive noted itachi will be able to read here techniques and use it even before here. That is something that both kakashi and itachi has done. Seems itachi fans do not take full advantage of his bunshin's especially karasu bunshin's. Firstly this is what the db states about karasu bunshin's and chakra [

]. Karasu bunshin's require less chakra than kage bunshin's. Next karasu bunshin's like kage bunshin's or mokuton bunshin's or whatever can use the originals technique's meaning itachi can increase the availability of genjutsu by creating these bunshins and we have seen his bunshin's being used for genjutsu when his bunshin met naruto and put him in an illusion whilst all this time he was at the uchiha hideout waiting for Sasuke. Also note that the bunshin also have the sharingan meaning they can use sharingan genjutsu if possible.

These same bunshin's when hit disperse back into crows and distort the opponent's eye sight [

What im saying is that 4 karasu bunshin's is possible even with itachi's chakra because they use crows as medium. These bunshin's have the same abilities as the original so we have 4 bunshin's plus itachi. That is 5 sharingan user's with extreme genjutsu feats and intelligence and everything else that comes with the original.

Itachi has low reserves however outside the use of his ms techniques he should be able to use more ordinary techniques because its his ms techniques that take a toll on him and not ordinary techniques. Kishi giving itachi bunshins makes itachi seems impossible to fight because now you have to fight more than 1 sharingan user and with every bunshin he creates the availability of genjutsu increases.

Itachi fans need to take advantage of karasu bunshin's more so than kage bunshin's

I would say Mei High diff for the simple reason that itachi Most powerful moves like susano'o , ammy and gen depend on MS however not all his jutsu is based off it he still has crows and some high level genjutsu, mei would have strong counters like boil release against his fire style and i know for a fact that his Suiton is inferior to hers, It would be a tough fight but she pulls through just about
