Hes not top 5.
He never soloed a rinnegan user
If he werent edo his eyes would kill him or at least made him blind if he fought someone of rinnegan level ... Even before rinnegan iser could kill him

Itachi is one of the strongest but at the same time hes also the the most overrate chracter, it seems the fangirls arent satisfied with the awesome caracter that he is and have to go beyond all limits and eventually ruin him

Madara, Hashirama, Minato, Obito, Tobirama, Hiruzen, Jiraiya, Nagato, Orochimaru, ... Are all stronger than him ... And sasuke and naruto will eventually be too if they arent yet (i do think they are)

But thats no reason to be butthurt, just leave Itachi alone and let him be awesome just as he is, a cool character and a strong one ... Just accept that there are ppl stronger than him geez

PS no he wouldnt be top 1, there are still wood, other rinnegan users, ST techs, BM and KCM or whatever users ...

Actually Itachi beat Nagato because Itachi used his Epic Advance Shuriken skills to blind all the other Rinnegan visions thats why Nagato didn't see himself get soloed by Itachi. Read the manga again. Itachi solo him fair and square

Imagine Itachi with Perfect Susanoo that wields Totsuka Blade and Yata mirror... although he already solos all everyone would just be VERY VERY VERY low diff
