If by konohas enemies you mean oro he came back right afterwords to see him. ofc there are risks to being a ninja and besides sasuke doesnt need his hand held
Yeah itachi should have said so to his parents inb4 doing poor job protecting him.
One would think that it would be his main goal since he planned to die by sasuke's hand and give him his eyes, but then again this plan was worthless if sasuke wouldnt live up to the fight and he's done little to no protection.
He killed the Uchiha clan to prevent the outbreak of an invasion on Konoha, supposidly. His logic is that once Konoha is weakened, other nations would immediately take the oppourtunity to attack.
Well, was there an invasion from other nations after this?

Well, Itachi was wrong in his stupid assumption. That is because he is an idiot.
-Invasions at this point are unheard of. Simply because Akatsuki were hired by the nations to eliminate select shinobi from others. Ironically, the framework of Akatsuki prevented invasions and thus war started by the nations.
-The Kyuubi attack happened one year after the 3rd shinobi war concluded. No nation was ready to invade at that point.
-Suna was ruined at that point and Konoha was quickly rebuilt. The Sound shinobi took a worse beating than anyone from Konoha did. No one could invade at that point. Also, once again Akatsuki members are used at this point instead of invasions.
The Uchiha clan was not killed off only due to the possibility of invasion. Itachi killed them off to protect their honour and prevent a definitive conflict in Konohagakure itself. He didn't have a choice over the fate of their lives, only how they died.
You're saying one is an idiot for caring for their family and people. It may be time to reevaluate some of your viewpoints, mate.
He did protect Sasuke given that Sasuke would have died numerous times had it not been for Itachi's influence in some way or another.
He let Deidara fight him because a) Killing Deidara would blow his cover in front of other Akatsuki and b) He knew Sasuke would win. Even when Zetsu told him and the other members Sasuke had died, he knew he hadn't. He had faith in him.
Having faith in a younger sibling is not bad at all. It allows room for them to grow.
Well, he did prevent an invasion by the Uchiha. Sure, there were others afterwards, but he did prevent one of them. Was it worth killing his whole clan? I don't know.
His clan was dying regardless even if he didn't do it himself. He just chose to kill them himself to preserve their honour as well as prevent further conflict. That's worth it no matter how you slice it and from his side the situation is very clear-cut.
The real question is if it was worth it for Hiruzen and Danzo/Koharu/Homura to not actively try alternatives. Of which, it wasn't.
Perhaps but that was just sole example.
Infact sasuke was left on his own and then could die on the missions, he nearly did.
Chunin exams could go wrong and then gaara.
Whole oro invasion.
Orochimaru could be more lucky too.
Sasuke was not mega fodder but itachi couldnt expect him to go against konoha enemies just like that. Checking up isnt protection
Usually you supervise the training and then determine the capabilities to know what dangerous what isnt, not just torture one and incite him to hate and become stronger.
In case of oro curse mark alone it had 90% chance of sasuke being a goner, would you risk it?

Itachi was a 13 year old brat who got TnJ'ed into killing his whole clan by Danzo. Danzo exploited Itachi's idealism for peace and used him to achieve his (Danzo's) own ends.

Only the last one is legit the rest have reason oh the leaf defeated and captured the nine tails no way we are messing with that since kumo also has that problem also kumo did got to war with leaf remember they tried to kidnap hinata
Second pains invasion a summit was about to go under way kumo had dispatched team Samui to Konoha after sasukes assault on been
As for SS invasion hmmm we have reports that jiraiya is at the leaf should we mess with one of the sannins ?
And. Also each village risk attack from another if they go to war
The uchiha clan is different they are already inside the village they are uchiha so the damage and casualties would be high

No, his decision was smart. U_U

Your points just proved some of the many ways Itachi protected Sasuke.
Sasuke nearly gave up against Orochimaru and Gaara. Then, he recalled his hatred for Itachi and that caused him to strive to live.
If Itachi didn't make Sasuke hate him, he would have died long ago.
Genin aren't expected to go against Konoha's enemies. That's the job of the Jounin and higher-level shinobi.
One cannot train someone when they're living miles away and living a facade just for the benefit of that very latter.
Itachi has no control over where Orochimaru goes. He didn't give Sasuke the CM, Orochimaru did.
He protected Sasuke and his plan worked up until his death. He kept his promise to his parents for much more than what was needed.
Shisui wasn't his hero and Itachi was not stupid.
13 year olds with brand new MS cannot beat grown men with Kamui.
Also, killing Obito doesn't do anything. In fact, that doesn't even relate to the situation given that the coup is still in effect.
It doesn't take a fapper to notice that Itachi's choice was correct given his clan was dying if he didn't do things himself anyway.
I meant that he could have let another child live since they would be as innocent as Sasuke. That's if there were anymore though, but I think it was implied there was somewhere.
