i know this sounds like an unfair fight but 1st just think about it

* Shikamaru is the smartest ninja and he has outsmarted every opponent he has every came in contact with

* Itachi is very smart and he has the sharingan. But i think it would be hard to get shikamaru into his genjustu

* Although shikamaru doesnt has much strength or much ninjustsu he has great tactics and technique

* Itachi has great strength, and speed. His tactics and techniques are good too just not as good as Shikamaru

you say hidan? why? he was the dumbest akatsuki, with NO ninjutsu(other than that shit immortal jutsu), genjutsu and a little taijutsu.

Itachi will one shot over him with a genjutsu, he may not even need sharingan, let alone MS.

Shikamaru: His intelligence has proven to be his saviour in all his battles, IF he would use this incredible amount of intelligence I'd suggest that he should just run like a mofo. His intelligence would be that of a strategist, in other words the strategy-guy in a war, for an entire army or a group of shinobi.

Itachi on the other hand has both the intelligence and the power to back all his plans up. He doesn't even need to think to beat Shikamaru in a battle.

Two of my absolute favorite characters in the manga - based on personality, nothing to do with powers.
Itachi wins, extremely low difficulty. Shikamaru could assassinate Itachi completely by surprise perhaps, but in a fight? No contest.
